Those who had died here would find themselves strangely revived. They were also very pissed.

The zombie apocalypse had began. Overnight, the dead turned corrupted. As their bodies and spirits became suddenly incompatible, the revived would be helpless as their bodies went crazy. Infecting. Killing. Biting. Eating flesh. Everyone who died, regardless of rather they'd been bit, would find themselves suddenly transformed into zombies due to the Spirit Realm failure. Needless to say, things were taking a turn for the worst.

Like everywhere else in the Empire, the Zarethians were caught offguard. The military was quick and decisive, using various magical illusions to lure the zombies away from heaviliy populated zones while setting up shields around the city to protect against hordes. Zarethian tanks floated above the writhing masses and administered well needed doses of pulse weapon fire to the abominable horde. Civilians who owned weapons barricaded houses and defended themselves as those who were unarmed fled towards bunkers kept safe by the military.
