The Warfront
« on: November 14, 2012, 01:54:17 AM »
Massive missiles were teleported into orbits around Walape, hundreds of them, already with their own momentum hurling them for the surface of the planet increased by the planet's own gravitational pull. They bore no markings, but a encrypted signal was broadcast from each one. To any normal receiver it would just sound like static, however if the time was taken to decrypt it, this is the message they would recieve-

[Remember the deal, DAIS Fleet. You are not to interfere]

With an attack being led by disciples of Revenge already well under way, not to mention an attack on the Narrikian space station which the Anrufe had taken over, things were very, very hectic for the Anrufe. It didn't help that Ground Island had just been destroyed during the zombie apocalypse, and on top of everything, the Anrufe was under new leadership. The Mecherans had picked the perfect time to attack.

It was time for the Anrufe to take a stand. Destroy the Mechera. Once and for all. Walape was an affordable loss in itself, but if it were dealt by the Mecherans, that would destroy the morale of the Anrufe soldiers and fuel the morale of the Allies in the War of Perdition. It would be an unaffordable loss. On the other hand, if the Anrufe defeated the Mecherans, it would be a monumental win.

A huge transmission burst sent out from all Anrufe bases except Fort Cloud directing the Anrufe to defend Walape at all costs. This was a FREEDOM mission. All. Out. War.

Energy Missiles were shot in the air at once to shoot down the enemy missiles. In case that was unsuccessful, defensive spells activated at once as the snow storm got unbearably worse -- specifically in the upper atmosphere, as strong winds and gusts threatened to send the Mechera attacks right back into space. An AMR field was also raised at once.

Most of the missiles themselves were actually hit by the Anrufe's defensive rockets, but this proved to be of little value as the hit missiles ejected their warheads, launching them even faster towards the planet. As for the winds in the upper atmosphere, those proved unfortunately largely useless. Not because the warheads had enough momentum to get past the winds, or some technology that allowed them to bypass it or anything. No no no.
It was quite simply that the upper atmosphere was where they detonated.
Roughly half of the warheads were clearly nuclear, and definately not clean. In fact, it was almost as if the explosion was a secondary objective to simply saturating the atmosphere with nuclear fallout, the bombs designed to burst into as much of it as possible. If scanned however, the fallout wouldn't read as normal radioactive particles falling upon the planet. Apparently, the particles were antimatter.

The second half of the warheads, before detonated, would curiously appear to primarily be composed of Pseudo Magic Cores. Just prior to the actual detonation, they would release massive bursts of Pseudo-Magic Particles, saturating about two miles around each Warhead. Then, instead of a conventional detonation...They would ignite. And the flame would spread along the Pseudo Magic, and burn through the magic storm of the Anrufe's devising. Any survivors of the Battle of Violet, or who had watched its apocalyptic footage would instantly recognize the unholy flames eating their magic and burning their spells. The Mechera...They had weaponized [W1£Ðƒ1r3].

Meanwhile, in low orbit, where the missiles had been hit by the countermissiles, a second broadcast was made by any and all of the missiles not completely wrecked and had transmission systems still online. This time they directly interfaced with the Anrufe systems, using backdoors and new hacking techniques directly devised sround the Anrufe's computer systems. Unless the Anrufe had completely changed all of their software, operating systems, everything since the Mechera's deal with Delta, they would be very vulnerable to this cyber warfare assault. Stragely however, all they did was plant a virus in the all but seconds they were in the Anrufe systems, and this virus did not actually shut down anything. Instead, they directly infested any and all AMR systems controlled by the Anrufe...And locked them online. They stopped accepting commands by the Anrufe personnel, and simply kept running online, setting up their AM-Killing fields and making them as large as possible.

A young female Anrufe soldier had died somewhere on the surface below. Average soldier, and to everyone except one boy she was nothing special. You see, for the last eight years of her life, she had a sweetheart. This boy had been everything to her, after the Anrufe. The sad thing being, he didn't age. In her mind's eye it was as if he stayed in perfection and she left into the woes of reality.

As she bled out, none of this mattered. Her operational importance was negligible. Yet... this boy who was beside her when she took her fatal blow... howled in sorrow. Torn by the loss, even if it was a countless chain of many loves... with each one this boy gave every drop of his heart like a child's first entrancement with another.

A layer of water, 10 kilometers thick enclosed the upper atmosphere. winds in the lower atmosphere swish and turned becoming a storm of ludicrous wind speeds and gale force. Six hundred and sixteen pillars of flexible and tensile mix of molten and solid crust shot up in the sky, as the storm and the pillar become the elastic support for the upper layer of water.

The warheads exploded into this floating sea, as the seas responded as if a living thing, and encroached and swallowed the force of their explosion. As the psudeo-magic particles would only breach the upper 3 kilometers of sea, and it pushed out that layer into the void of space as if shedding skin. Expelling normal water mixed with all the radiation and pseudo-magic particles out way from the planet in a spherical ray.

During this whole thing, the woman... had risen and attempt to attack and consume the boy. Yet, even as his only normal eye widen in horror, his other eye remained stoic as the mirror it speared to be. Floating far above the woman's frenzied corpse... he wept.

(OOC: Well screw me sideways. Talk about a knife to a gunfight. Or rather, Tainted tech to a mo-fuggin nuclear war. Why isn't anything ever simple with you guys? :P)

"Well fuck me sideways." One of the Vice-Prophets said as the disaster in the atmosphere unleashed.
"Surge, what's the plan? Things are changing very quickly out there. Somebody else is here."

Surge's metal grid moved on largely unhindered. The metal was superheated, melting the ice and even the snow in the air around it. It started to wrap around Vionix soldiers, crushing them with incredibly hot searing metal, and continued to build a very tall grid around them and in the area around the bubble. The circumference around the bubble was completely consumed by the metal grid, and finally, the crazy mass of twisting wires ceased. It consumed a five mile radius and continued to glow red hot, resisting any snow attacks. Any snow attacks hitting the bubble itself had been tainted instantly, and their energy converted to making the bubble stronger.

"The plan?" Surge said with a smug grin, his words vibrated into existence.
"The plan is to destroy." Suddenly, his backpack activated again, the central red light spinning and humming. Slowly, music was heard through it, very, very faint at first. But Surge put up his hands, and his Wave Energy connected with the grid.Suddenly, the bass from the music became a palpable force, rocking the entire environment with surging force that would act like super powerful winds. Every bass hit and every screamed note was another strike. Surge poured his energy into it, anything within a 100 mile radius would get piss pounded by pure, surging, Wave energy. The metal acted as a magnifier, anyone trapped within it would be obliterated by the energy that physically pounded them and deafened them. Anything outside of the grid itself would be rocked by the physical manifestation of sound, powerful enough the tear limb from limb.

The four disciples in the sky, already injured by the blizzard, were killed by the waves.

The song provided a fitting theme to the entire battle.

The water would not stop the spark, as the [W1£Ðƒ1r3] began to burn the magic that animated it. It flowed through the water, burning through it yet not affecting the water itself, devouring the spell behind it. As it spread, the water would simply fall lifeless back into its sea, and the flames would spread through the molten crust, burning along and through it all the magic animating it. The particles of Pseudo Magic were, in truth, just a kickstart for the [W1£Ðƒ1r3], and they didn't last very long what with the magic ocean collecting them. With the spells burned away, the blaze of [W1£Ðƒ1r3] incinerating everything around the crumbling pillars of meted rock, it slowly began burning towards anything magic on the ground around them. Well, if what happens next is somehow prevented, anyways.

Meanwhile, back at the deanimating ocean, the fallout began to come into contact with the water in the ocean. This, even with the [W1£Ðƒ1r3] nearby, was a terrible idea. Immediately, millions if matter-antimatter reactions occured as the antimatter dust came into contact with the water. As usual between matter and antimatter, the result was total annihilation of the particles, resulting in pure energy. Even a ounce of antimatter coming into contact with matter would result in a 1.22 Megaton explosion, and there was certainly more than that much fallout from the nuclear blasts. The likely result would utterly obliterate the ocean trying to contain it and the pillars holding up the ocean. ...Matter of fact, the likely result of the sheer destructive force of the hundreds of Antimatter-Nuclear Bombs worth of Fallout coming into contact with normal matter in such a confined space would most likely not just tear up the planet's crust, but rip a crater leading directly into the planet's mantle and destabilize its atmosphere. The force of the explosion was literally apocalyptic...Chances are, nothing on the planet would survive the cataclysm.

EDITOOC:Uhm...Fuck. Arright, well I originally intended for the attack to slag Walape's surface with antimatter raining from the sky, then when Cap unfortunately coated it in delicious liquid matter I thought the destructive power would only be enough to rip up a chunk of the planet. However, after talking it over with Dylan, whom many of you know to be a person who knows their science inside, outside, upsidedown and backwards, it may be far FAR more powerful than I originally thought. Im going to include the Gmail log and the site I used to get the original 1 Ounce of Antimatter=1.22 Megatons for clarity of scale purposes(the log is from his perspective because I asked him to send me the log; the app Im using to connect to gmail doesn't portray the chat as a log but individual messages and stuff).
Here's the site- http://www.edwardmuller.com/right17.htm

Aaaand the log-

Trevor:  Yo, you there sir Dylan the Awe-Inspiring?
 Sent at 08:39 on Saturday
me:  Indeed I am, Duke Hiro of Badassness.
Trevor:  'K, just wanted to be sure before I exploded in some kind of rant
Uhm
 me:  Do rant on.
 Sent at 08:42 on Saturday
Trevor:  I know you dont care for Shattered and stuff, this is just something I made there, but anyways a while back on my technological faction I made a weapon called a Antimatter Nuclear Warhead. Basically they're designed to be dirty nuclear weapons that use antimatter for the 'uranium' of the nuke; instead if generating yield with the antimatter itself it functioned as a normal nuclear weapon just with antimatter
 Sent at 08:44 on Saturday
me:  Heh, naw, I'm cool with hearing about that stuff. And, the antimatter bomb is an oldie, but a goodie. ^_^
Trevor:  The idea was that the antimatter fallout from the weapon was the real threat behind it, because it'd rain across a larger area and level a much larger area than a conventional warhead could
My point is, I only recently used one
...And now that its detonated I looked it up and apparently one ounce of Antimatter coming into contact with normal matter results in a 1.22 kiloton explosion
I sent hundreds of warheads
 me:  ^_^
 Sent at 08:47 on Saturday
Trevor:  Even worse, one of the defenders decided to magically cover the warheads with a ocean to dampen the explosion and funnel the fallout to space, giving me a nice big chunk of matter to collide with my fallout
me:  To be fair, because of the way matter and antimatter annihilate, a lot of the energy goes on very bright lights. You could easily justify that they're calibrated to have a higher ratio of light, burning out lifeforms without damaging anything physically.
Is very good at manipulating science to his whims
Trevor:  Nnnno, no, it was against the Anrufe. Who the Mechera hate. Immensely. Im just saying
I think I just destabilized a planet's atmosphere
And
Ripped a crater in the planet capable of fitting a moon in it
...My ideas scare me
 me:  ^_^
 Sent at 08:52 on Saturday
me:  Well, depending on how much antimatter those warheads use, I'd say a lot more than that. An ounce of it could level a city, but the amount of nuclear fallout you expect to get from the average nuclear weapon is probably somewhere around a tonne, total.
That's more than thirty-five thousand times the payload, per nuclear warhead, not including the damage from the initial blast.
You probably just completely wiped the planet out of existence. XD
Trevor:  ...And these were dirty bombs, designed to maximize fallout...And given that apparently a Tonne of Antimatter is enough to be worth three WWIII(by that site's calculations). .  Ohgod

(..Anti-matter/matter collisions do not produce any sort of radioactive fallout.
It is a 100% matter to energy transfer; literally nothing is left to be fallout.
However it is insanely strong and would probably fuck a planet over. If you need to ask someone about science, I'm usually open. Hell; I made a topic for just that purpose.)

(Im aware, the warheads dont work via matter-antimatter collision. The warhead itself is a normal everyday nuke, except that it uses Antimatter as its 'uranium'. The idea is that the fallout it creates it made up of Antimatter itself, allowing a single warhead to cause much more devestation over a larger area than otherwise possible. Thats why I call them Antimatter Nukes, not Antimatter Bombs; they use nuclear fission/fusion for the initial yield, not matter-antimatter reactions)

(Nuclear fallout is created by incredibly small radioactive uranium particles being spread into the atmosphere. If the uranium is anti-uranium it would detonate the moment it came into contact with matter. It wouldn't irradiate shit because it blew it all up. You pretty much made an anti-matter clusterbomb.)

(And now you see the entire point of the weapon in the first place. :D But yeah, that was its entire point and why I dont like specifying that its fallout is radioactive in the first place(which it technically is but eh); it might make people think Im intending to irradiate them instead of crater them. Im full aware how my kinda very old weapon works, ja. Thanks for taking a interest though)

OOC: Have no idea how much anti-matter you're using so... If you really did use enough to wipe the planet out you should probably have y'know... Given a bit more heads up.

As the massive nuclear warheads erupted, EAMs were immediately deployed to meet and absorb the radiation in the upper-atmosphere. A blinding light spread over the horizon of the planet for miles and miles, probably visible over at least half the planet. The fact remained that among the radiation, which could be absorbed, there was anti-matter particles which could not, and the explosion was devastating as the matter-energy conversion took place. The radiation would be contained. But... The atmosphere would be completely destroyed. Heat would fill the atmosphere and the massive snow that coated the ground below would turn to water as the planet would begin to flood.

The next thing that started to occur was a startling display as the gasses around the planet and in the lower atmosphere started to flood outwards, ejected into space. To make a long story short, the oxygen around the planet was going to get very, very thin quite soon if something weren't done -- and the temperatures would get very, very hot. Luckily for the Anrufe, most of them were in underground bases, well protected with isolated life support. A transmission warning the Anrufe's allies of the dangers approaching would hopefully allow everyone time to get to safety.

Quote
Meanwhile, in low orbit, where the missiles had been hit by the countermissiles, a second broadcast was made by any and all of the missiles not completely wrecked and had transmission systems still online. This time they directly interfaced with the Anrufe systems, using backdoors and new hacking techniques directly devised sround the Anrufe's computer systems. Instead, they directly infested any and all AMR systems controlled by the Anrufe...And locked them online. They stopped accepting commands by the Anrufe personnel, and simply kept running online, setting up their AM-Killing fields and making them as large as possible.

The Anrufe, of course, noticed this and wondered how the Mechera had gotten past Anrufe and DAIS security in the systems. And why they'd chose to expand the AMR fields. The Mecherans wanted magic, then. They wanted to make sure that no AM fields could interfere. Only, the Anrufe wanted the same thing. It was only when systems noticed the pseudo-magic attacking the goo from the disciple battle that the Anrufe realized what the Mecherans were up to. It didn't matter to them. They still had technology.

The sea would be unaffected by the EAMs. Seeing as the chaos wasn't unfolding in the upper-atmosphere but in lower-orbit thanks to the floating sea, things would be considerably better in the long run, but even in lower-orbit the explosion would likely devastate the atmosphere of Violet. The soldier would no doubt receive a message over the Anrufe's psychic LAP communicators telling him to get underground as quick as possible.

Even as the Disciples attacks moved through the ground, the waves would be reflected by shielding of the underground bases. By now, most of the Anrufe personnel had gotten underground. No doubt some on the ground would be killed. The Disciples of Revenge would find the temperature rising en masse as all the gasses on the planet rose up into the atmosphere, ejected into orbit by the destruction of the atmosphere. Put simply, if the disciples didn't get to safety soon, they'd likely all die.

With one last scream of emotional torment, the EverChild disappeared is a glow of redyellowblue light. As his final frantic spell caused such a cataclysmic reaction, scrubbing the upper atmosphere from existence.

The dark figure creating the solid blizzard vanished with a distinct pop, as the spell continued on its own prerogative. Encased the structures in a sheen of ice stronger than almost any metal.

The Wyvern heard the communication, and darted underground, taking a vice-prophet into his jaws like a swooping eagle.

The radiation was easily absorbed by the EAMs, the ocean and most of the [W1£Ðƒ1r3] easily expelled into space, and the planet over-all defended, except, y'know, the fact that the surface was pretty much now very unpleasant. The underground bases themselves were fine, and the Anrufe hadn't really been hit hard. The Mecherans had, though, helped the Anrufe considerably. Until now, the enemies in the War of Perdition hadn't been taken very seriously. That was all about to change.

It was time to go to war.

But still, the frost and ice did very little to stop the grid from spreading, still glowing red hot and still moving fluidly. Indeed, it grew less effective as the surge spell took effect, blasting across the entire landscape and literally blasting the know and ice crystals apart. The Wyvern would be blasted apart by the spell, and if he wasn't, would continue to be rocked by it's residual effects. Assuming he bypassed those, He would crash into the barrier erected by the the Cultists and would begin to be heavily Tainted by it's nature. His dive bomb attack, no matter how it went about, would be ill fated.

As all the terrible shit happened around them, the Cultists were all safe in their bubble. But one of the Vice-Prophets but his hand on the shoulder of Surge.
"We need to get out of here." He said firmly. Surge continued to pour his energy into the spell, and looked over the landscape from beyond their translucent bubble.
"Yes yes. We do." He said, words vibrating into existence. The Vice-Prophet nodded to his companions, and they cast a mass teleport.

All of Revenge's forces vanished, leaving the Mechera to fight their own fight.
