Redemption (Have Faith in Me)
« on: November 22, 2012, 09:45:50 PM »
Instantaneously, Farora and the woman appeared in a forest clearing, leaves all about them. It was a most beautiful place, the sun shone brightly down on them and the woods caressed them into feeling at peace, a feeling of security, a feeling of being at home. Farora breathed in deeply. She realized that she had missed that smell... Autumnavia had such a unique air. No other world she had been to quite had it.
But she had other affairs to attend to, she realized as she looked at the burnt body on the ground. She knew just the girl who would help, and she remembered this place. It was where she would go when she needed some peace in her youth. There was a town nearby, where Farora's healer friend would be. She glanced to look at the woman, to see if she was still passed out.

Immediately, Nek would appear nearby with a silver glow surrounding him, many of the black fur-creatures he'd been fighting surrounding him as well. Greatsword drawn, he continued swinging at the balls, ready to teleport again. His temporal energies seemed to weaken them, and the more he jumped, the more he'd -

"Oh."

Slaying two more, his head turned towards Farora and the woman who seemed to be unconscious and nearly burnt to a crisp. Well, that wasn't what she'd been expecting at all. How... Odd. Normally, he'd be a bit skeptical, but then again, he'd had a crazy day. Zombies, furballs, mechanical kangaroos, sushi shops. There was no ordinary day for a time traveller. However; this, even by Templar standards, was... Well.. Very unusual.

So, here the Templar was, fighting the strange creatures that kept appearing wherever he went, face-to-face with what was most likely a killer disposing of a rather burnt body. How wonderful.

"Excuse me," Nek politely said, slaying another furball, "I'll just uh... Be going now."

"Wait!" Farora called after him.
"Do you know how to heal? This girl needs help. I'm trying to get her to a healer friend of mine, but if you know a little, please help us." she asked, concern in her voice.

"I can try," Nek replied, slaying the last of his enemies before returning his sword to the sheath he wore upon his back. Approaching the two, his eyes locked on the girl, he thought of the best course of action to take. A silver glow surrounded his hands, at first like a ball of temporal energies, but they started to spread out, the aura stretching like dough before reaching her body, enveloping it, surrounding it entirely as the temporal energies started to flow into her body through every pore, to surround her, to reverse her body back to its state before the explosion.

Doing so, of course, was not easy. Her body had a lot of damage to it. By the time he got done healing her, he felt very tired, but with a sigh of relief, he looked at what he'd done. Very slowly, her body had reversed itself, the skin had grown to its fair white color again, her hair had returned and regrown, its blonde colour evidently bright -- even her clothes, which had been ripped to shreds, repaired themselves. Even the concussion she'd gotten from the fall against the Revenge disciples was gone.

"T-the name's Nek," he greeted Farora, panting.

Farora glanced at him with fascination. In all her years, she'd never seen a healing power that thorough or fast. She smiled with admiration.
"Name's Farora. Thank you Nek." She looked down at the girl and released a happy sigh to see her whole. Her grisly body was horrifying to look at before, but now it was quite nice.
"Now, let's see about this mystery girl, shall we?" she said with a smile. She crouched down and nudged her softly.
"Hello? It's time to wake up. If you can."

Since she had passed out, Amy would have had terrible, bloody nightmares. But the strange thing was she wasn't running from the monster. She WAS the monster. She became a burnt, deformed, hideous beast who rampaged across the world turning to flames whatever she touched. She would see Eric Mann's face everywhere, giving her a wicked smile. But as soon as she destroyed it, it would appear again. She ran across the entire world looking for him, desperate to destroy him.
This was a result of the Taint on her spirit. It was very small, but it was there, and if she didn't get a handle on it, it could quickly scramble out of control.

Running. Running ever so fast. The blonde haired woman stopped, right in the middle of the street. What was she running from? No. No, she wasn't running. Everyone else was running from her. She was still so normal. She kept telling herself how normal she was, but as she looked down at her hands, her shaking hands, she knew she wasn't normal. Blood soaked them, and she dropped the gun in her hands as she stared at the body of Addler Vas Vacon.

ZPAA surrounded her. So many soldiers. HIRU. Hand. She could see Hermitage looking at her, that dirty look, and then, she knew, she was a monster. She had to be free. She had to --

Everything stopped.

"So, it all comes down to this, hm, Amy?"

That voice. Not him again.

She turned to face him, Eric Mann, always hovering over her, always watching her. That smile on his face. That... Anger in her blood. He was taunting her. He was always taunting her. Why was he always taunting her?

"I suppose so, Mann."

"Aren't you going to shoot me?" Eric asked, holding his hands out, "Go ahead. Do it."

Amy stopped. What was she waiting for? This was the revenge she wanted, right? She needed to grab it, needed to have it for herself -- it had consumed her. Now it was time for her to use it. She could feel herself changing. She looked down at her blouse. It was no longer soaked in blood. In fact, now, she was dressed in a brown cloak. What? What was going on? She could feel her teeth grow sharp as she reached out to bite into the flesh of Eric Mann. At long last, sh-

Letting out an entirely unnatural roar, the blonde shot up, her teeth biting into -- well -- air. She stopped, confused. It had been a nightmare... No. It had been a dream. What had happened? She looked down at her body. She'd been... Healed. By who? The woman from earlier? Or this new man beside her? It didn't matter. She was alive, and well. And that meant she was one step closer to finding him. He was still alive. She knew it. She had to find him. She had to-

"There we go," Nek said, laughing, "Easy, miss. Can you tell me your name?"

Name. Name. Name.

"A-"

She stopped. No. She wasn't Amy Jacob. Not any more. If the Zarethians found out she was still alive, they would track her down to the ends of the earth, and they'd put her in some mental hospital. She wouldn't be able to stop him. She wouldn't be able to stop Eric Mann and protect Hermitage. She had to kill him. She had to rip his bloody teeth out, to rip into his -

"A? That's a funny name," Nek joked.

"A... Ayame. My name's Ayame," she said, her voice now taking on a different accent than most Zarethians.

'Ayame' turned to face Farora. "And I think I have you to thank for saving me, my dear," she continued in her new accent as she gave Farora a peck on the lips before turning to Nek, "And you? You healed me, yes?"

"Yeah, no problem, miss. What happened to y-oooowoahadpakd-"

Nek was, of course, cut off by the warm lips of 'Ayame' as her tongue was practically shoved down his throat. His hands naturally cupped her cheek as he returned the rather passionate kiss, which he assumed was his 'thank you for healing me' gift. Wow, he thought, I ought to heal people more often. After a good thirty seconds, Ayame broke the kiss, her eyes showing nothing but gentleness. But in her heart, she felt it. A lingering feeling. A hate. A hate for Eric Mann.

No, this feeling was stronger than hate. This feeling was... Revenge.

Farora took back with some surprise, but grinned after the peck. Her jaw dropped as the girl shoved her tongue down the man's throat.
"Well hot damn, I guess I need to start learning to heal if people get thanks like that." She grinned.
"It's good to see you in one piece, Ayame. I'm Farora. This is Nek. And we're all in a bit of a spot because it appears we have all just met." She looked over her two companions and her brain could not believe it. In less than two hours her entire life had been changed and she was in a whole new situation with a lot of damn explaining to do. Questions had to be asked.
"Well...." Farora interjected slowly, trying to process everything that had just happened.
"I believe you owe us a drink, Ayame. I know a place with great hard cider just down the way. Nek, you'd better tag along. Follow me." She grinned. A slight shift in her appearance would happen, she grew a little shorter. Her eyes changed color and the shape of her face adjusted slightly. She was barely unrecognizable from her earlier appearance, and a little less attractive. She began walking and turned to her companions mid stride,
"I didn't leave behind many friends." She explained with a wink.

(OOC: You mentioned Amy changes to be quite shy, want me to play up Farora's overbearing nature to make her a bit skittish?)

OOC: Sounds brilliant. You need to PM me back and tell me more about Farora and what you want to do! =o

Amy felt strange being called Ayame, but she tried hard not to let it show. She was going to have to get used to that -- being called by a different name. Right now, it seemed these two were her best source of information, but she had to get out of these Zarethian clothes at once -- and she needed to change her appearance as well. Doing that wouldn't be so easy, because these two would notice immediately if she had a complete makeover. Besides, this Farora girl had seen her on Tefillin and knew at the very least that she was dressed in Zarethian clothing and had been on a Zarethian planet. Maybe Amy needed to enlist Farora, gain her trust -- but she needed to make sure she could trust Farora first, and buying some drinks seemed like the perfect way to get to know her new friends.
"It's a pleasure," she replied in her new accent, a bit taken off guard when she saw Nek's hand outstretched to her, a goofy grin on the man's face. She took it and stood from her position on the ground, wobbling a bit as she stumbled to gain her balance. She felt Nek's strong hands holding her steady, and she flashed him a sexy grin as she gave him a warm, "Thank you."
She had him eating out of her hands.
As the group started walking through the forest, she could feel the crunching of leaves under her feat, the trees above bare of any life, gloomy. It was getting darker -- it was night now. The moon was overhead, the stars providing some more light in the chilly Autumn night. The wind was not so much intense as it was ominous, and Nek could feel himself getting chill bumps as they started in a certain direction beside Farora.
"I'd love to join you ladies," Nek explained, "But I kinda already have plans for the evening. Some sort of festival's going on somewhere nearby, and well, I'm supposed to meet up with someone there. But," he stopped them, "I'll do my best to meet up with you ladies later on. I have an uncanny ability to find people."
"Sounds wonderful," Ayame once more replied, "It was a pleasure meeting you. Thank you so very much for helping to save me."

"Thanks Nek, catch you around. Have fun, it's good times around here." She said with a wink. She continued to lead on through the woods, the full, orange moon illuminating their path quite nicely. One could smell spices on the air, as well as the scent of tobacco. Sweet and musky, it clung to their lungs as they breathed out. All the while, music mixed with laughter at the edges of their hearing. They rounded a corner, and a small town was illuminated in front of them with an enormous bonfire in the town square. Just as they rounded the corner, someone threw something into the fire and it jumped in height, turning blue as sparks crackled and danced over their heads. Screams, cheers, and innocent laughter cried out in a perfect medley of youth, the blue light cascading both ominously and magically across their eyes.
Farora's eyes widened, and her voice called out a little weakly, and a little sadly.
"The Young Festival." She said, voice quivering. She shook off the feeling so Ayame wouldn't see it.
"The bars right here." She said, pointing with a fake smile. The place was a wooden shack, pretty roomy. The windows were shuttered and a single man sat on the porch, smoking a long pipe. The clinking of glasses was heard inside.  A large wooden sign, illuminated by the still-blue fire, read Freedom's Gallows.

As they walked into the village, Ayame's face went from disposition to joy, her eyes wide like a child as they walked past the merchants in the streets, the fire rising, the smell of delicious food everywhere. A little boy ran right past them, and she had to stop to make sure she didn't run into him. Such joy... I would have enjoyed it here in another life. She kept walking, and when Farora announced that they had arrived at the bar, a small little joint, she remarked, "Looks quaint."

Farora smirked, and Ayame would see her eating a shishkebab that she had certainly not paid for.
"That's one word for it. But their ale and their hard cider are the best you'll ever have. Come on, let's go!" She grabs Ayame's hand and walked by the smiling old man up front. He nodded to them as they passed. Just before they ducked in, Something else was thrown on the fire. It turned pure red, and butterflies of fire shot out, dancing as sparks sprang from their fiery bodies. Once inside, they would find it much more comfortable then the exterior suggested. The room was bare of decorations besides some pitchers of wild flowers, but the furniture showed some fine craftsmanship. The tables and chairs were sanded to perfection. The bar was full, but most of the tables were open. Folk from the bar looked back at them; they were all older, husbands with wives. Most met the gaze of the new duo without hesitation and gave them a nod.

The Young Festival was exclusively for the children of Autumnavia.  Besides the guards who roamed it to make sure nothing got out of hand, there was little adult supervision. For an adult to show their head on this night was considered bad form, so parents took refuge in quiet drinking holes like this while their children played. Consequently, a lot of good, older people would be tucked away just like they were.

Huh? Wow, there sure are a lot of geezers in here.

"Heh," Ayame quietly let out, blushing with a bit of embarrassment from the new attention. Bowing slightly to the older people in the room, she turned to Farora and whispered, "Is there a little girls room? I need to um... Fix my makeup."

Farora cleared her throat loudly, glaring at Ayame.
"I don't know my dear, I've never been here before. Why don't you ask the nice barkeep up there?" She said, loud enough for everyone to hear. She gave another glare, and rolled her eyes, walking towards one of the tables and taking a seat.

Damn, what's this bitch's problem?

Amy was losing sight of the situation. Already, she found herself trusting this Farora chick. No. She couldn't let herself trust anyone, not now. She would play the game, because she knew that this girl had information on those cultists. She wanted her revenge. She needed to kill Eric Mann. But there was no way that Farora was going to start spilling everything when she was sober. The trick was going to be drinking while not getting too drunk that Amy couldn't extract information.

Smiling lightly at Farora, she turned to the bartender, walking over in her sexy pose, leaning on the counter. "Excuse me," she called over to him, her eyes showing vulnerability, a sort of innocence.

Five minute's and the bitch already almost blew my cover! Farora chastised internally. She drummed her fingernails on the counter waiting for a waitress. She started to wonder why she had saved the girl, but deflated when she remembered why.
Because you couldn't forgive yourself if you didn't... Damn conscience...

Farora took another sideways as Ayame sauntered to the counter and could feel herself turn green.
Girl's got moves... She felt tempted to shift her features to her true self. She could outshine that bitch any day. But just as she was about to, she realized it would be damn near suicide. She grumbled under her breath and folded her arms, pouting.

After asking the bartender to send a few drinks to their table, Ayame made her way towards the bathroom. Her hands pressed against the door, pushing it open, and she was sure to lock it behind her. Sighing, she finally let her guard down. She needed to process everything that had just happened. Walking over to the sink, she turned the faucet. Cold. Water, pouring. Her hands cupped around the water, seeking to retain some of it, her fingers tightly clenched together as she brought her hands to her face, splashing it with water. You look disgusting.

Looking at herself in the mirror, she let out a deep breath, letting her hair down. First thing was first. Hands around the hem of her shirt, she lifted it up, above her head, and discarded it on the ground. Running her hands across her stomach, she felt a shiver run across her spine. It was cold in this bathroom. Unbuttoning her jeans, she pulled them down to her knees before sitting herself on the sink. She could feel the wetness of the sink, and it made her feel slightly uncomfortable as she kicked her heels off before shimmying the jeans down her body and onto the ground. Standing, she reached behind her, unfastening her bra and slipping the straps down her shoulders. Finally, her hands wrapped around the wasteband of her panties, and she pulled them off as well.

She looked at her body. She looked hard and well. Here goes nothing.

First, the hair. She knew how to do this. It'd been part of her training -- disguises. Closing her eyes, she concentrated her magic, building it up and streaming it towards her hair. Concentrate. Concentrate. Her hair began to grow longer, longer, and longer still, finally stopping around her breasts. Letting her hair fling forward, she turned on the sink again, wetting it. It needed to be wet. This next spell needed water. Her hair began to grow wavy, and then, turned red. It was no longer straight, blonde hair. It was distinctly different. The hair on the rest of her body soon turned red as well.

Next, the face. The eyes went from their blue hue to a much more green one. Her nose grew wider, her lips perkier. Across her face appeared freckles, common for gingers. Her skin grew whiter, more pale, all over her body. Her chin became slightly more pointy, her face slightly more skinnier. Even her ears changed, her piercings closing up, the shapes of her ears growing more pointy as well. Already, she looked like an entirely different person.

Her breasts became slightly larger. Her weight, smaller, her stomach smooth. Her hips grew only slightly wider. Her ass grew larger as well. Her legs grew to be just slightly plump, but smooth, all the same, pale. Her hands and feet grew softer. Freckles decorated her body, only slightly as well, in a way that some men would find completely attractive. She had already used up a good amount of her range of magic. She was almost done.

The clothes she'd been wearing vanished, gone. On the sink, new underwear and a white sundress appeared, as well as flats. Slipping into her new clothes, she looked at herself in the mirror, fixing her hair and applying necessary makeup -- just a bit of eye shadow, some mascara. She looked... Beautiful. Completely different. And she felt confident. With a new identity, a new accent, and a new appearance... She was a changed person.

Now, it was time to start her new life. She confidently walked out of the bathroom, ready to see what would happen next.

(OOC: Awww... No more Kristen Bell?)

A couple of heads turned as she exited. Some of them had been shamelessly checking her out as she sauntered over; and they were eager to see the pleasing curves of this new blond woman again. But their glances shifted suddenly to fear.

Farora looked up, and her jaw dropped.
"Oh... Fuck no..." She muttered. She jumped out of her chair as some of the men leaped from their own, pointing at Ayame and shouting,
"SUCCUBUS!"

Ayame had unwittingly triggered a disastrous event. Succubi were feared creatures in Autumnavian culture, they enjoyed dragging men off to their beds and never letting them return. Towns like this had run into problems with them in the past. Succubi are cunning shapeshifters, and they always appear as beautiful women to seduce their victims. Now, the patrons of this bar thought she was one because they saw her walk into the privy one way, and come out another. The bartender produced an enchanted blade, and moved fast for his age. He vaulted over the counter and brandished it.
"Begone, demon! We'll have none of your tricks here!" He said angrily.

Everything went from quiet to hot as various men -- and even a woman, she thought -- whistled at her pretty little form before stopping abruptly upon realizing that she was not the little blonde girl who'd just stepped into the ladies room. This confusion was quickly replaced with anger and fear, though why, Ayame did not quite grasp. However; something was wrong. This hadn't gone as expected, and she'd somehow made a mistake, which, judging by the hostile glances, could very well have been a fatal one. It seemed that she was about to get in her first bar fight.

"Succ...ubus?" she asked in response to the shouts.

That's when the bartender made the first move. She heard the familiar sound of a blade being drawn from its sheath -- to be fair, she was more accustomed to the sound of a knife being drawn, but it was still the same basic sound. Hand to hand combat. Only, she was unarmed. This man was not. And she wasn't exactly going to establish a new cover by drawing attention to herself. Too late, honey. You've already drawn plenty of attention to yourself. Just survive. This barkeep's old. You have your training. Keep your head up. Don't let him get you.

"Easy, boys," she spoke, hearing her new voice for the first time -- it was sweet, a little deeper than her old one. "I don't want any trouble."
