Tainted Portals opened up all over the planet, thousands of Disciples from all three branches poured out, each equipped with a sophisticated back pack. They were all different in their own way, but they all enabled sustained flight. Large clumps of squads carried enormous, clunky cannons powered by glowing Taint Cores. It took a dozen Disciples to keep them up. There were about 50 scattered over the planet, and they all fired at once. They began to Corrupt the planet, and with their sustained efforts, they would go straight through the crust and contaminate the entire Core. Thousands of Disciples flocked around the Corruption Beams, protecting it. Others lent their power to it, helping it's unending onslaught to Corrupt the planet.

There were many, many, Disciples, lead by a couple thousand Precious and more than a hundred Vice-Prophets.

Aaaaaaand as soon as they portal'd to the surface of Frezzi, the gas giant, they would pretty much all die from both the extreme pressure(as while gas giants actually DO have solid surfaces this is in fact only because their superheated composition is so condensed that it isn't gas or even liquid anymore) and the complete lack of breathable atmosphere.

Meanwhile, safely in orbit, the many Mechera stations noticed the unknown corruption spreading(since Imma guess the machines being crushimafied is just gonna release tons've Taint), they readied several modified Soldier models, designed to resist the extreme pressure of the gas giant, as well as modified Contingents, both Aegis and Assault, loaded into ROK-Models already prepared for the conditions of the planet. All were equipped with lighter weaponry loads as well as flight systems for models not already capable of flight on their own, as well as deep-sea variants for once the pressure condensed the gas atmosphere into a liquid state. The last difference was that all of them were equipped with specialized Pseudo-Magic cores and the ROKs had Frigate-Grade Mirror Shield generators(which they could utilize as ROKs effectively are frigates that are used more in planetary warfare than spacial). Once all Mechera Models were readied, military Mechera uploaded themselves into the ROKs' computer systems, and deployed to the atmosphere of the planet to begin containment of the corruption, beginning with Mirror Shield deployment to prevent its spread by encircling the corrupted areas by at least a half a mile excess, to prevent any of it from escaping before they entirely contain it.

Obviously, all the Disciples had spells preparing them for the environment of the planet. The machines were prepared for the environment and had been built for such, and thus continued their function flawlessly. The Mirror shields would delay the Beams, but not for long. The Corruption beam began to convert it's energies into Tainted Energy and the conversion process was fast. The more energy was pumped into the Shields, the quicker conversion would take. The energy that would have been used to redirect the energy was used to magnify it's power, it was essentially pushing it onward with more force.They began to shrink as more and more of it's energy was redirected to the opposite of it's purpose. The Disciples waited for the Mechera deployments to strike first, as the beams chewed through the layers of ice and began to Corrupt the oceans themselves.

Yet that was the beauty of Mirror Shields-they'd never get at the energy powering them, because whem the beams hit the edge of the shield...They hit themselves. The input and the output were the exact same place, so there wasn't any way to get beyond them. All that would happen is the beams running right into themselves from the other direction, no way to get at the power source of the shields because the shields, being technically portals, needed no direct power(just a source to project them). As the unknown forces would continue their futile effort, the Mirror shields would completely encircle them, trapping them inside of a spherical portal that let nothing through. After that, a electrical charge poured in from unknown sources, in truth Pseudo-Magically devised, running through the entirety of the enclosed area. The attack was twofold-first, to kill anything alive within the area(the electricity was at very lethal levels), and second, to utterly fry any machinery within the area.

There was a still point in which the beam connected with the shield. It may have been nano-inches; but it still existed, or else the shield wouldn't be able to effect the beam. And that point was all the Taint Beam needed to Corrupt. It may have not been directly powered, but energy was still being fed into it for it to exist at all, the beam didn't need to have contact with it's power source, it merely superseded the power being pumped into it.

The Beams continued their handiwork.

OOC:Blah, Mirror Shields confuse me enough already, and I made them. Now we're getting into if they technically have a place physically or if there's something to effect, which apparently isn't as cut and dry as I thought given that your argument makes sense. ;_;

Even as they began effecting the Mirror Shields surrounding them, they did nothing about the Pseudo-Magic bolt set at them. Even without the Mirror Shield(or at least, whole Mirror Shield) to contain it, it still electrified only the set area, shocking anything alive to death and wrecking any technology there. After that, any corruptive energies left over were taken care of in another matter-since the Mirror Shields apparently weren't working, they sent particles of Pseudo-Magic specifically designed to absorb energies not normal to the Gas Giant, as well as energies not normal to Mechera technology. It wouldn't matter if the particles were 'corrupted' themselves, since that was entirely their point-to draw in and hold within them any hazardous energy. There wasn't even any power to be stolen from them, as unlike a portal or shield these were conjured, and sustained themselves.

As the bolts assumedly came from the Mirror Shields themselves, they didn't even have a chance to get past the beam. They were harvested and converted instantly with very little loss of energy. This, combined with the Corrupted Mirror Shields, effectively gave a temporary super charge to the Beams. Assuming they bypassed the Beam, by not coming through the Shields themselves or some other reason, the Disciples guarding the Beams would be able to harness it and bypass it the same way. They would probably sustain light casualties in the process, but the Beams would continue.

The Absorbing Energy found itself obsolete immediately. It may not have sapped and major power, but it was Corrupted almost instantly and added a minimal increase in Tainted Energy. It may have been meant to contain and isolate, but once Corrupted, which happened easily since it was receptive to energy, it instantly became an extension of Revenge's will and was folded into the Beams.

The Mirror Shields were almost entirely absorbed into the Corruption Beam stream, and the Beams were through the ocean and began Corrupting the Mantle.

OOC:My last post with the bolts was my 'you did nothing so my attack succeeded' post; countering it now would be like if...Say...IC!UnStellar threw a bunch of portal cubes at Som E. One while, I dunno, headshotting them with a rifle and the other guy posts that Some tilted their head to the side, to survive the rifle bullet, then you post that the cubes connect and take him to a dimension of hellish pain or rainbows or wherever UnStellar's awesome portal cubes go, and then them posting that Some dodged them. It...Kinda doesn't work that way. :/ As for the Pseudo-Magic particles(which...Aren't really a energy, but I digress)...

Even as the corruption took hold in the Pseudo-Magic particles...Something was wrong. They didn't change, other than that they held the unknown corruptive force within them...At least, they didn't change in any way possibly intended by those who had tried to spread it. The more the corruption tried to force the particles to change to its own whims, the more reactive they became. Instead of being turned into more of the energy, the particles took on its corruptive nature and turned it against the taint. They began transmuting the taint around them into more Pseudo-Magic particles, which then repeated the process on the taint around them, then on the taint around the new particles, ect. The more the corruption tried to affect the particles, the faster it spread. . .But. . .The faster it 'mutated'. You see, Pseudo-Magic in itself is...Stable now, to a degree, but the only thing keeping it in line is the programming used to dictate what the spells do. You might think this would make it significantly easier to manipulate, just tweak the programming to your ends, right? Except, the more this programming is changed, or worse, erased, the more the true, unstable nature of Pseudo-Magic begins to surface. At best, it retains some fragment of its original purpose(The program to create fires on Violet, changed to fires that spread along magic and Pseudo Magic) though invariably twisted, at worst something chaotic and horrible. These mutations began innocuous enough, such as the change from absorbing the corruption to corrupting it, but would soon devolve into something much, much worse if this taint continued to influence them. But of course, when I narrarate worse...Do I mean for this corruption of Vengence? Or...Perhaps...Worse for the fools who mess with forces they never began to understand?
