Alright Red, let's get this all straight without pulling out each others hair.

My first reply did, in fact, so something about the bolts. However, because of a lack of clarity, I didn't do it in the right way, the way the IC people would have done it because they experienced it and saw it. Your reply clarified the attacks, my reply to that was the proper way given the much clearer information. And actually, in my last post, I covered my ass regardless of how the attack happened, which I specifically stated both outcomes depending on how it happened.

Also, the psuedo-magic wouldn't resist Corruption that easily. Even if it isn't energy like you say, all things have some form of energy, and Tainting itself attacks that. The Corruption itself would attack the code that makes the code that makes the code that changes it. It goes that deep. It doesn't play by the same rules of the code itself; it bypasses it and goes straight to the very essence of the energy. So it's not even dealing with the code, it is simply Tainting the energy that makes the code, and Corrupting the energy that makes the code change.

It goes all the way to whatever energy is powering the code, which I assume is some sort of tech power source. It takes that energy being fed to it, and turns into it's own kind of Energy, which starts a chain reactions like knocking over the first domino in a line.

The reason Im doing the bolts as such os because, reading the post you didn't mention them at all. Not in the post immediately after the attack anyways, and seeing as they're entirely independent from the Shields if you were going to defend against them you'd need to actually say so. Plus, by all rights within the Mirror Shield they wouldn't have any light to see by, and further than that they dont necessarily understand how the bolts are appearing, nor that the cause ISN'T the shield itself. The way you responded would very well likely be how they responded to a unknown assault, in which case their tactic failed because they misjudged it. As for covering your ass after the fact...You...Cant really do that. I think. BUT, by all means you could be right and it might be me misinterpreting everything so if another Staff member would act as a impartial mediary on this matter, I'd much appriciate it.

As for Pseufo Magic...Ergh, this is why these sorts of things probably shouldn't be mixed in the first place, but eh...The thing is, you're using your Embodiment's Taint to basically take over the Pseudo Magic. However, barring the programming restraints encoded into the Pseudo-Magic itself, the stuff is a extremely volatile and unpredictable force that by rights should not exist, literally speaking. For starters, you're using your power to take control of something you dont understand(to be fair, the Mechera dont really either BUT they do understand it better), and secondly, what its trying to do without its programming shackles is corrupt your Taint. Its taking the property of what your Taint is trying to do to it, and then twisting it. If, by what you say, the Taint is going underneath the programming and bypassing it completely, this should actually be happening faster because it no longer has any laws to obey and reality in that space should become deformed and twisted within seconds as a literal mockery of magic itself is set upon that area without anything able to hold it down(and no, at this stage the Mechera aren't able to put in new programming either, because it doesn't accept new 'commands' even when its working perfectly, they would have to wait for it to run its course before slowly mending that area bavk to a sembleance of normalcy). Even if you weren't completely bypassing the code, any deviations from the behavior its programmed to follow slowly erode its purpose into new(and exciting) ways, which I mentioned in the post as the 'mutations' occurring. To explain it in terms of what you were saying, the 'energy'way powering the code is literally Pseudo-Magic, which is the product of what happens when you substitute Tech Existence for Magic Existence in a otherwise normal Magif Production. The fact that you're trying to convert it into Taint in the first place is WHY its behaving this way.

I didn't mention in the FIRST post after because I presumed, due to a lack of clarity, that they came from the Mirror shields which were successfully being Corrupted. Therefore, the beams would automatically suck the energy going through the shield to charge the bolts and they would have never happened. You then clarified in your next post, so in my next post I clarified further how they would respond. Even with that clarification, I also had a secondary defense in case I was still mistaken (which I was):

Assuming they bypassed the Beam, by not coming through the Shields themselves or some other reason, the Disciples guarding the Beams would be able to harness it and bypass it the same way. They would probably sustain light casualties in the process, but the Beams would continue.

So no matter how the attack was launched, I defended against once all the facts were made clear before me. As the Mirror Shield is being Corrupted and absorbed it is becoming smaller and no longer encompasses the entire area; thus there would be light to see. Even if there wasn't the bolts would produce enough light since they are basically bolts of lightning/electricity.

I don't need to understand it to Corrupt it. And none of what you said matters. My Taint Energy completely consumes the smallest molecules of Pseudo-Magic, and in a way becomes PSEUDO-pseudo-magic. It is familiar yet different, thus it continues to feed on the cells, consume and destroy. Like toppling over dominoes. Despite the complicated nature of Pseudo-Magic, it still has to obey the same rules.

Ergh. I still disagree because every other case people are given one chance to respond to a attack, whether they understand whats going on or not. I probably wouldn't have had a problem if you pulled me aside after that post and checked with me first about it(not as a staff but as the person you're battling against), but you just went and defended after the fact. My post wasn't a clarification, it was a 'that didn't stop my attack and it went through'. You thought the attack came from the Mirror Shield, and the cultists reacted accordingly. There's no reason they'd have known it was seperate from the shield. By the same token there's no reason they'd think they weren't, but you reacted that they were because thats how you interpreted it in the first place and I took my hit when your counter didn't work against both the attack and defense.

As for the Pseudo Magic...Well first off, there aren't any molecules(Pseudo-Magic isn't really made of matter as such, just like Magic isn't), but thats a nit-picking difference of what to classify the particles as, so either way. Why should your Taint be given priority? I mean, and I hate phrasing it this way because I dont think either is necessarily sentient so the word fits kinda wrong, but the key word you're missing is 'trying'. Your Taint TRIES to consume the Pseudo-Magic. It doesn't need to understand it to TRY to Corrupt it. What Im saying is, you cant outright say something, really anything, succeeds on this forum. Especially when it comes to the more esoteric things like this. Again, I hate phrasing it this way because they're technically not sentient so its not like they can do anything as such but its the easiest way explain it, but the fact is the Pseudo-Magic particles are 'resisting', the Taint from controlling it and forcibly changing it. And at the same time they're resisting the attempt of the Taint to change them, they're changing themselves differently. Thats how Pseudo-Magic works, attempting to control it makes Bad Things happen. The only reason the Mechera have any success at all is because the code is imprinted on the Pseudo-Magic when its made in the first place, not when its out in the field. Sure, it usually changes itself in a way kinda vaguely like what you're trying to use it for(in this case, I believe its changing so that its trying to 'cporrupt' the Taint into more of it) but it NEVER reacts the way you want, not without a major 'fight'. Why should the Taint automatically succeed and me not get to RP how it would react to the Taint otherwise?
