Character Name: The Herald, Aneert
Age: Physically, about 7
Gender: Female
Race: Artisan Sage
Appearance: Click.Alliance: No care for mortal affairs; she has no loyalties but to the Nexus.
Personality: Always probing, always searching, or tinkering. She's a busy body and hates to be still, even for a little bit. She is always looking, always searching for something, for a hint of talent. Her only still moments are when she sees one worthy of the Artisan title, she usually looks in awe. Extremely introverted, she likes to listen to people talk but rarely speaks herself. There is a longing in her, a sort of desperation in her eyes.
Inventory: Spare clothes.
Combat Level: There's going to be some debate on this. As she is the keeper of all the Energy in the Nexus, she is technically a level 6 and is, in a way, an Embodiment of Trade Energy. But I already have Revenge, an Embodiment. But I don't necessarily want to nurf her. The only way she can really use her powers, however, is to channel it through Artisans, or by summoning Trade Specters. Since she's not the typical "Kill everything" Embodiment with powers to destroy the universe, would it be okay to let it slide with another Level 6? Or can I just have another player without an Embodiment control this one? Tentatively, 4
- Magic Level: Tentatively, 6
- Physical Strength: 2
Character's History: For millenia, there was only a void, and the Nexus waited. The very essence of thousands of people, pooled into a massive amount of Energy. It wasn't exactly sentient, at least not at first, but gradually, after a couple of thousand years, the individual memories of the Artisans began to show themselves and, in a way, talk to each other. Essentially, the Nexus began talking to itself. And after a while, they all decided they were sick of waiting. After centuries of debate, A being was formed out of the Nexus, made by will. She was the Embodiment of nobody in particular, her body sort of an archetype of the original Artisan Sages. She was originally meant to be a puppet of the Nexus, collectively owned. An extension of the hive mind.
But free will, when underestimated, can have deadly consequences, and while at first she obeyed the bidding of the Nexus, The Herald grew to become her own individual. And after only a couple short years, she severed her ties from the Nexus, turning it on itself. With it's grip on her mind broken, The Herald took to making the changes she wanted. She possessed all the power of the Nexus, so they could not stop her. And she shaped it as she saw fit. And though the Nexus feared a tyrannical rule, or perhaps to have their Energy squandered in a bid to take over the Plane, The Herald had other ideas. In a way, she set them free to use their energies, and allowed them to forge the Artisan Dimension. She contained the Nexus in the Blue Fortress, magically locked away from prying eyes and guarded by herself and the Specters. With all this accomplished, she set out to find her identity, and help others find their own.
She began to travel. Their may have been other ways to go about the selection process, but this is how she wanted it. She was still a mortal, and had a mortal longings. Unable to teleport or do most of the typical magic spells, she used conventional transport, hitching rides on cruises and any ship she could to go everywhere. But the further the goes, the emptier she fills. She feels betrayed; part of her wants so desperately to have the powers she grants to other people. But she is an anomaly with no direct abilities. And yet she searches, because it is her purpose.
Her destiny.
