While this topic was technically not so much about the Anrufe as it was about Chaos and Keith, two Anrufe members, I included it because it marks the beginning of the Anrufe's downfall. When the mysterious man with a bag over his head (or perhaps his head IS a bag) arrives on the Anrufe's titan, completely surpassing Anrufe defences, and begins speaking to Chaos about his family, the Anrufe leader is at a loss for words. The journey that begins for Chaos in this topic ultimately leads to his end at the hands of his own daughter. This topic also shares a lot more about who Chaos is, who Keith is, and who Anarchy was. Overall, it's a pretty good topic, and in my top 12 list.

In this topic, we get to see one of my favourite Anrufe members, Shift, reveal the true extent of his power. Shift, a mercenary-sort for the Anrufe, is a chronomancer, the negi (dark alter-ego) of Jay Stryder. In this topic, Shift massacres Narrikians on the planet by ageing them into dust. The topic is fairly short and sweet, but it's in my top list because it shows off what kind of members the Anrufe had in its organization, and what they could do. Oh, I forgot to mention. Shift's battle on the planet was all part of a bet with his fellow Anrufe members to see who would destroy or take over the most planets first.

This is a really fascinating topic to me. It shows the Anrufe clashing with the Zarethians, who they've always had a shaky and uncertain relationship with. In this topic, Zere, one of the Anrufe's leaders, attempts to kidnap the director of the Zarethian Hand (intelligence service), being sure to leave a little parting gift before the end of the topic (which will come back into play very, very soon). This topic also sees the Heart of the Council, the Zarethian Council's day-to-day-operations building, destroyed as a result of the battle.

Who doesn't love a good party? In this topic, Delta and Red Zero go on a small date on a Narrikian Planet, a banquet. Tensions are high at this point between the Anrufe and Narrikians, though the War of Perdition has not yet started. The Narrikians are frustrated that the Anrufe and DAIS (para-military group) have various listening posts near Narrikian planets. By the end of this topic, a battle breaks out on the planet, one of the first battles leading up to the War of Perdition, the Narrikian-led war which brings the Anrufe to its downfall. I love this topic because it shows that the Anrufe are people with emotion. Delta and Red Zero's relationship is really explored here, and how their jobs are just part of their life. It also marks an important political event for the Anrufe seeing as this event is arguably the one which cause the Narrikians to start the war.

Wow, what an interesting battle topic! The Snake and the Machine shows off the true level of combat for the Anrufe as they go up against one of their biggest enemies, the Mecherans -- and UnStellar's crew, a group who live on Violet. This topic marks the single most damning moment the Anrufe ever suffer, their lowest point. This battle, a clash of strengths, ends with the death of Jikore (and Seither?), serious injuries for other Anrufe members, the loss of the entire Anrufe fleet (but not the DAIS fleet), and the capture of Red Zero. It is also another important characterization topic for several characters, including some of UnStellar's and for Delta. In this topic, after Red Zero is captured, Delta secretly betrays the Anrufe in a deal with the Mecherans for Red Zero's freedom. Delta gives the Mecherans access to all of the Anrufe's technology -- something which the Mecherans will exploit later on during the War of Perdition.

This topic really isn't that big in the grand scheme of things, but I do truly like it for reasons unknown to me. In the topic, Hiro's Mercenaries attack an Anrufe research facility where PROJECT: FLORA is being developed -- basically, study on a plant-based life form. Sometime during the topic, Tideans show up and assault the facility and the entire planet, starting the War of Purging between the Anrufe and the Tideans. Blue Zero is also abducted by the Archive in this topic, leading to his death soon after in another topic. The topic overall is a good read and quite comical at times as well.

This is actually one of Hikaru's favourite topics as well, I believe. Actually, it's really short, and I wish it was longer. In this topic, Chaos reflects on his life -- this is (I believe) only moments before he decides to return to the Anrufe and take control of things there. He realizes that he's missed his chance to become a father, and while he is ultimately probably a bad person, he realizes that much of it is because of the tragedy that happened in the Era Village all those years ago. I truly like this topic as it shows a different side to Chaos that we rarely get to see.

One of the first Anrufe topics in Season Four. I was truly beginning to redefine the Anrufe here, particularly the personalities of the characters, Zere especially. I think this MAY be the first topic where Orph roleplayed with Abel as well, though I'm not sure. In any case, I included this topic because it shows off the personalities of my two favourite Anrufe characters. Chaos and Zere. It is overall just a... Fun topic to me. Not much violence. Just pure roleplaying.

Another meeting for Abel and the Anrufe's Chaos and Zere -- and Abel's brought company this time! Lincoln, AKA the Top Hat Man, is also present. There is a very short battle in this topic, but quite a creative one if you ask me, and again, it shows off the Anrufe's abilities. I wish I would have continued on that topic, because it really was turning into quite an awesome battle, and to this day, it stands out in my mind as one of the more fun ones I've had here, at least for the Anrufe.

I think this *may* have been my first IC post in Season 4? In any case, it is the start of the Anrufe's return at the beginning of Season 4. Chaos awakens Zere after a ten year slumber and tells him that it's time for them to start waking up the other Anrufe members -- but first, they must find a new host -- a body -- for their leader, KiaB, who's previous body was destroyed during the Nyx War. This journey will be the start of the Anrufe's rising, and will mark their first real return since their demise during the Zharael Crusades some eleven years prior. This topic started it all, and while I feel I've improved in my writing skills quite a bit since then, it still makes number three on my list, and sometimes I still think back to the day I envisioned that topic when I need inspiration...

This topic was just really fun. I don't think there's a better way to really put that. A bit of a three way battle in and later literally on top of a Paxan "subway" system of some sorts, this battle is between Benjamin, Rogue, and Zere. In it, Zere does something very interesting, and it happens only once or twice in the RP (we're seeing it happen again right now). He remembers his cause. He remembers his need for revenge against the Genesis King. He remembers why he trained Hikaru Tyris, why he went after the Sage Three (particularly K2323 and Kai), why he joined the Anrufe. And it motivated him like never before.

This is probably the #1 must-read Anrufe topic on the board. I believe this for a number of reasons, the first of which is that it marks the death of the last original Anrufe member (though Zere does later return and while Assassin does die in this topic, everyone thinks he's still alive in the weeks that follow). Secondly, we finally unlock the mystery of just who KiaB, the original Anrufe leader, was, and we learn about the circumstances surrounding the Anrufe's formation. Third, we meet a new antagonist who is apparently very strong and who has been supposedly in control of the Anrufe this whole time. A very dangerous force, to be sure. And it all takes place... Behind a locked door.

(A comedic side note, Jeebus really wanted that locked door to turn out to be Shift's bedroom, which would have been hilarious.)
