Yeah. They ruined it. I mean, I know people say that about alot of things that go from book to movie, but I mean they fucking RUINED it. The only thing that movie and the book have in common is zombies and they aren't even the same kind. According to the articles I've read about it and even the trailer itself shows that this is about BRAD PITT forced to SAVE HIS FAMILY and RUSH AGAINST TIME to SAVE THE WORLD. In other words, pretty much the exact opposite of the book, which is a (fictional, duuuur) interview with several people across the world about the how the zombie apocalypse began and, slowly, was won by the whole of humanity. I knew they were gonna change it for the big screen, and I was okay when I heard that Pitt was gonna be in it cause he's an okay actor and I knew he was basically only there to get women in the theater, but goddammit, that is not a zombie horde that is a flood of water that happens to be people shaped! And oh look, the film starts in America. And pretty much stays there. And no, before you ask, thee author, Max Brooks, had exactly zero input on the movie. They shut him out of it as the fuckers that make movies nowadays usually do. *sigh* Alright, I'm done. I just need to get that out of my system cause they just ruined my favorite book about zombies. That being said, I'm still gonna watch it in the theaters, cause it looks to be the only 'big budget' zombie film that's ever going to be made again -,,,-
Oh, and apparently the directors want to make it a trilogy. Make of that what you will...
