Chains of Command

Jeff Solaris here on urgent business came out to Pleasure Planet after parking the large capital ship he was assigned as commander of. The Narrikians needed more funds than they presently had. The construction of the GS-Max prison had been an expensive operation. He was not sure if it was even cost-effective for them to maintain ownership of the prison. A couple of lawyers, and 5 soldiers were with him.  Jeff was unarmed, but each of the soldiers had a weapon or two on their person. The lawyers were also unarmed. The way he arrived was in a shuttle from his ship.

"I've come here to meet with the leader of Pleasure Planet, and discuss a sell."

After a lengthy process, he was redirected to the Metropolis section and finally to Club Starlight. There was a huge party going on, as Club Starlight was the best club on the planet. He had to wait in an incredibly long line with his whole entourage.

[Zero]

Jeff waited and impatiently tapped his foot. For he had a long thing to do. Each of his soldiers took the time to check their weapons systems and make sure all of them were operational. Until they succeeded here an all clear could not be given to the financial experts on the ship. The only reason for this visit was to assure that the GS-Max prison was owned by a neutral party. This was so that the prison was not one to contain political prisoners of the Narrikians alone, but could be exempt from any empire and thus protected or so Jeff hoped. His guards continued to check their laser rifles and plasma pistols they had in their possession.  "When will this line end?" asked Jeff, impatient.

A Pleasure Planet Law Enforcement Officer, patrolling the area, noted the men checking their rifles and called it in. He had a cquad of five Pleasure Planet Law Enforcement NCO's there in a matter of minutes.  They converged with their weapons drawn.
"Put the weapons down and get on the ground." He shouted seriously, and the line dispersed as people ran screaming.

Jeff nodded at the men who put their weapons on the ground. "These are just my bodyguards, and they have orders to check their rifles every 2.5 minutes in order to ensure there is no jam, critical battery overload or other problem associated with them that could create an explosion and kill themselves. Besides, the rifles won't fire anyway unless I activate them with a remote I have in my possession. We are here to meet with Veritas and Zelini and discuss a sell. They came with me because of standard Narrikian protocol, IE travel with security guards armed in case of any presence of potentially dangerous opponents. "  Jeff was unarmed, but he knew how to fight hand to hand. So for that matter, did the men accompanying him. The men waited for the law enforcement officers to let them go on their way.

The men in the squad looked at each other blankly, and said more to each other with their eyes then needed to be said with words.
"Open carry is encouraged on Pleasure Planet. But don't flail your weapons around like that. As you were." The man nodded to them and his squad dispersed.

They found themselves at the front of the line, and two enormous bouncers stared down at them.

[Zero]

Jeff pulled out a large pouch of credits and handed it to the bouncer. "We are here to see Veritas and Zelini. This will insure you let us all through as we are now." His soldiers had picked up their weapons and holstered them across their backs. Their side-arms, were clearly visible. Each of the soldiers had a series 5 MWCA on them presently. This was not time to joke around. "In side is 50,000 credits. Take it or leave it."

The bouncers looked at the pile of money, and at the body guards, and then at each other.
"Get the hell out of here. Get rid of the rifles and the armor, and then we'll talk." They said firmly.

[Zero]

The soldiers left, teleporting out of Pleasure Planet and back to the shuttle. Before they did one of them tossed Jeff a hilt that could produce a blade of silver energy and so he grabbed it and stuffed it in his pocket. From there Jeff looked at the Bouncers once more. "So can I pass now or do I need to ditch the one weapon I have in my possession?"  Jeff was reluctant to go it alone, but did not let that show on his face. Calm and in control, slow and steady were the aspects that could win any race when he set his mind to it.

"How shall we introduce you to Mr. Zelini?" They asked, leading him into the club. It was crowded, and the music was loud.

[Zero]

"As a business man. I am well aware of his hostilities and the rest of the plane's towards the terrorist cell known as the Anrufe. I have in my possession the deed to a facility that could hold them should they be captured. I have been ordered to sell the deed and the prison that was constructed by the Narrikians to  Veritas and Zelini Industries in order to make the prison politically neutral.  In addition I also have orders to obtain any weapons or advanced technology that Veritas and Zelini have produced for use by the armed forces currently hunting the Anrufe."

Jeff said this and entered. But around his neck was a device. It monitored his life signs. If he showed even the slightest sign of physical pain or distress, it would send a signal to 40 soldiers on board the ship which would then teleport right to his exact coordinates armed to the teeth. This precaution was one he had put into effect in order to allow himself not to need the body guards with him. On his back was a backpack containing some of the latest designs of Narrikian Technology.

"Wait a second." The bouncer paused, placing a hand on Jeff's shoulder.
"Are you the Narrikians?"

[Zero]

"I am a Narrikian yes, but I am a member of the Republic of Narrikia...which is a newly formed coalition of both Narrikian governments under Emperor Ryan Deanc, and Minister of War Silas Night. Silas has assigned me to this mission in order to expedite the capture and imprisonment of all Anrufe personnel so that the galaxy may be in a period of peace for a while at least."

Jeff waited for the response.

The enormous bouncer grabbed the collar of his shirt, turned around, and tossed him out the front door.
"We don't deal with your kind. You have a reputation. Have a nice day." He called after him.

[Zero]

Jeff winced in physical pain as he smashed his head hard into the ground outside due to the way he had been thrown. Immediately 2 armed guards appeared near him and picked him up teleporting him to the medical center of the ship. From there it was a simple job of the medical teams examining and patching up the brain damage and restoring the brain cells that had been lost during that smashing failure. Immediately Jeff got a computer aqnd printed out a letter and had it mailed to Veritas and Zelini on board Pleasure Planet. The letter detailed that there was a trade in the works, but it could not be conducted inside of Pleasure Planet. The trade was of a Prison that the Narrikians had constructed to hold the Anrufe. The prison was going to be sold to Veritas and Zelini pending a meeting in person on board the ship hovering near Pleasure Planet, a safe distance away.

Zelini's staff made sure the letter never made it to his desk.

The ship left orbit, as now they had to seek out someone else to obtain the prison.
