Ranking and Organization of The Cult of Revenge

Uniforms

All Cultists wear somewhat baggy slacks, sturdy boots, a sleeveless undershirt of their respective branch color, and a robe over the top. This robe varies on the individual and on the purpose of the mission, but most have hoods. The emblem of their branch is emblazoned on the should of the undershirt, the hip of the slacks, and the sleeves and back of the robe. Unless you are a Vice-Prophet or higher, your uniform is black. Brown denotes shame; one who has either been demoted or failed a mission. White denotes elite ranking and is a sacred color for the Cult.

The exception to this is the Diplomats, who usually wear whatever they please as long as it's green and has the cult emblem on it in one form or another.

Ranks

Disciple: The lowest and most common rank. Disciples are expendable grunts, and often have a minimal knowledge of their Taints. Usually lead in small squads by Precious.

Precious: Once a Disciple has survived several conflicts, and/or has a confirmed kill count of 12 or higher, and/or is found to have an exceptionally powerful Taint, they are promoted to Precious. Precious are usually the highest rank seen in mass combat, and they usually use their Disciples as human targets. They are denoted from regular Disciples by the following: a hood that is the color of their branch and/ or a stripe of their respective branch color on their sleeve and/or boots of the color of their respective branch.

Vice-Prophet: The highest rank  possible for most cultists. Vice-Prophets are hand picked, and usually only because of surviving many conflicts or a powerful taint. Their ability to lead is rarely considered; if they've won enough conflicts, regardless of the casualties to their own men, they have a good chance of becoming a Vice-Prophet. Although seen on battlefields, they rarely fight, and instead direct their men with little regard to their own safety. Vice-Prophets are deeply Tainted and usually have to undergo some of the more brutal rituals of the Cult. They are distinguished by white robes with black emblems, and usually have the color of their respective branch on their hoods, undershirt, and boots. When you see white, you're in for a fight.

Steward: The highest possible position in the cult. Although technically Revenge's individual persona lead each branch, he is rarely present. So he assigns a Steward to take his place. There is only one per branch, they are the most powerful individuals in the Cult. They are promoted on the sheer strength of their Taint alone. They have to fully undergo the Ritual of Separation, which puts them through 40 days of torture, to assume the role of Steward. Stewards are ruthless and mostly emotionless, and rarely step into battle. But when they do; they wreck devastation across entire planets. Denoted by white robes with colored emblems of their respective branch.

Branches

Blame: The largest and most versatile branch, Blame does a little bit of everything. Noted by yellow emblems, they are usually the cannon fodder thrown into battle, the leg workers for the Temple, and prime recruiters. They are Revenge's hands. Most Disciples end up here, but some advance to Misery and others folded into Hate.
Steward: J

Misery: A more specialized branch of Revenge, Misery is composed of Disciples with the deepest Taints. They are unpredictable and strong. They act as special forces for Revenge, they are his eyes. Spies, recruiters, sometimes trainers, Misery deviates from the typical Revenge model by emphasizing friendship and the strength of the individual. To be a Disciple in Misery is equal to being a Precious in any other branch.
Steward: Surge

Hate: Every Cultist begins as a member of Hate. Hate acts as recruiters and trainers for the majority of the cult, and often handles the administrative and commonplace duties for both branches. Vice-Prophets of Hate are usually some of the more powerful and ruthless members of the Cult, and full of rage. Rarely seen by themselves in combat, but often bolster Blame's forces. When they do step into combat by themselves, though, look out. Hate favors shock, rush tactics that are overwhelming and devastating.
Steward: Khan the Eviscerator

Diplomats/Faith: The green branch is new. They handle the Cult's PR. They do not participate in combat, nor do they have Taints. Diplomats are Revenge's face and mouth; they spread false messages and interact with other empires to confuse and put in disarray. They are all paid actors, and damn good ones.
Steward: None

Dissent/Remorse: A new branch separate from the Cult itself; lead by a twisted spawn of Revenge himself, they disapprove of the Cult entirely and have ignited a schism.
Leader: Remorse

Organization

A full squad is 32 cultists, this is uniform in all branches. They are usually lead by a Vice-Prophet and three Precious, and often split into smaller fire squads.
Rule 26:A little sun screen never hurt anybody.
