WAKE ME UP, SLOW ME DOWN
« on: April 18, 2013, 07:20:00 PM »
Something's wrong.
THEY'RE SCREAMING AT YOU. A MASSACRE HAS OCCURRED.
Memories flashiiiIIIINO, NOT AGAIN!
K2323's eyes flashed red once more as he floated in the odd, cream-coloured void of... Well, he didn't know where it was. He couldn't remember how he'd gotten here. First, he'd been with Emily, back in K City, and then --
BLOOD RAINING FROM THE SKY.
Flashing through K2323's heads were visions -- memories. Memories of his sister, of her life. Pouring through K2323. And it hurt. And it was... More than his brain could physically handle. His body was in some sort of shock right now. The visions would come for a moment, and then leave, and after each and every one, he was exhausted.. And they just. Wouldn't. Stop.
As a memory of his sister, massacring an entire village, faded, Kaleb breathed a deep breath in, feeling himself convulsing as he looked up into the "sky" of the cream-coloured void that he seemed to be falling through, floating through nothingness on only his back. What... What is this? Why... Why is this happening? He couldn't seem to find an answer.
And... To think. He'd almost decided to stop. It had crossed his mind, just back in the hospital room with Emily, earlier. He'd realized... that he couldn't keep letting the old parts of his life -- Emily; his sister -- ruin who he was. He needed to just take Julia and Kaleb and Fiske and leave, back to the Genesis Kingdom. Back home.... That was right. Kaleb. Fiske. He'd almost forgotten... His sons. They were dead. He'd only just learned. They were dead.
He felt a tear running down his cheek, but before he could react, it happened again.
SEE THE FACE OF YOUR FATHER AS HE SITS IN THE DARKNESS.
...What? This memory was... Different. Mainly because it... It wasn't a memory. It wasn't a vision. K2323 knew that he was still physically in the strange void, but in his mind? In the "memory" where he should have been seeing a dark part of his sister's past? He saw only himself. And it wasn't his past. This was now... Inside his mind, he was in a dark room...
And his father was sitting in a chair, in front of him.
"D-Dad?" K2323 asked. "How? I thought you were..."
"Dead?" Chaos replied, chuckling, "I am. You're not going crazy."
"Then... How?"
Chaos smiled, an unusual thing for the supposedly-dead magical terrorist. And it wasn't an evil smile.
"It's so good to see you survived. It really is. I thought, for a moment there, that you wouldn't make it. That none of you would. When your sister... Did that... She broke the laws. And... he gets angry when people break the laws."
"He? Who? What laws? What are you talking about, Dad? I... I don't understand."
"There's no time to explain," Chaos replied. "Our time is short. You need to listen to what I have to say, and you need to listen closely. You need to free your sister, and then both of you need to leave. Don't look back. Don't ever look back. Just get as far away from here as possible. Do you understand?"
"Yeah, Dad, but... Why?"
"It's my successor.... The new leader of the Anrufe... It's... He's..." Chaos stopped, as the dream-sequence started to flicker. "We're running out of time."
Flicker flicker.
K2323 could feel everything fading. Collapsing. The dream was collapsing. SHATTER SHATTER SHATTER. Like broken glass, the room, his father, was all shattering... He saw his father... Heard his call.
"TO FIND THE ANSWERS, RETURN TO THE BLACK SUN!" Chaos shouted.

Break.

The "glass" of the collapsing "dream" seemed to put itself back together just temporarily. K2323 could see his father again, floating in the darkness... He could see his father's mouth moving. But, he could only barely hear what his father was saying... One... word. .

SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiIIiiiIIIiiIIiiIIiiMMEEEERRRRRRRRRR.

And then... K2323 was gone.
