Those From The Shadows
« on: April 29, 2013, 01:36:37 AM »
It was dark...

The room was dusty.

Creeeeeek.

The door slowly opened for a guest at the Galactic, Inc. HQ on Pleasure Planet. A dark, dusty room, nearly completely empty, save for two empty chairs which faced each other in the center of the room. On the other side of the room, there was another door, though where it led was not clear. Two windows sat against a wall, letting only traces of the outside moonlight illuminate part of the room. The sound of crickets could be heard faintly.

"Please, take a seat," a receptionist says, leading the guest in.

The guest smiled. "Thank you," he said. He calmly looked around room, and sat down.

Whieeeeeeersshhh. A bright light enveloped the dark room, and then, the guest was gone, transported away.
The shadows envelop us all.
"When I was a boy, my mother used to read to me, a story about a young sage trying to find his place in the world. It was always so... Fascinating. Imagining that I was that boy from the story. Tell me, do you know what I mean?"

It was a woman speaking to the guest, as she drank her wine. She had long, blonde hair and fare skin, dressed in the most lovely and exotic of dresses, made from some sort of animal skin. She did not face the guest, instead locked on the sight of space, beautiful space. They were in a spaceship, standing in a rather large room, and it seemed like there was nothing between her and space what-so-ever. This was not the case, of course, as there was multiple layers of shields keeping her from being sucked into the vacuum of space.

"Sometimes, I feel like I can just," she began, holding her hand up towards space, towards the invisible barrier, "Reach out and... touch it."

She tried, but drew back her hand, wincing as she glared at it. Smoke glared off her finger. The result, of course, of trying to touch a plasma-powered shield. Not that she was touching actual plasma, or anything. Her hand would be gone. But it still hurt all the same, and she pulled her finger to her mouth, trying to make it better.

The guest, now, would be sitting on a comfortable couch, and the woman soon joined him, sitting near him. The room was quite spacious, a sort of den of some kind on a spaceship. Quietly standing against a wall was the only other guest, a woman in a maid's outfit, not daring look at either of the other two. Eyes down, she moved towards them, holding out a glass of freshly-poured wine towards the guest, setting it on the table before him.

"Leave us," the woman insisted.

The maid turned, silently doing as she was told. As the resounding swoosh of the spaceship door's close echoed into the room, the woman stood once more, and her form began to change... Her blonde hair changing into short, gray hair, her large breasts shrinking, and her skin growing with wrinkles. As she spoke her next words, her voice changed from a sweet, lightly innocent voice, into a deep voice, a man's.

"Why have you come? You know I don't like surprises."

The guest smiled. "I'm sorry, but it's rather... urgent, should I say? You see, someone you know, yet you don't know exists, is planning to kill you. He is very powerful, and you would need assistance. Therefore," he said, as he put his briefcase, which he had all this time, on the table, unlocked it, and opened it. He reached in, and took out a folder. "I am recommending you this individual," he said as he put the folder onto the table, and slid it to Galaxy.

Grabbing the manilla folder and opening it, he looked at the information on the file with curiosity. If... that individual truly had returned, an expert would be needed to... Take care of things. Excellent. Taking a sip of the wine, Galaxy stood once more, pacing back and forth, thinking. Could it be? Could... Could Galaxy's own son be alive? If the CEO's son was still... Alive, he would have to be taken care of. And it seemed that Galaxy's guest had the perfect person in mind.

"You understand, of course, that this presents a problem."

"Oh, really? What is it?" the guess asked, still smiling.

Galaxy shook his head, taking another sip of his wine. "Your... solution just made a strike on that man's capital. Granted, it's my own fault, in a way. I should have stopped it. But the fact of the matter is, we may have a war on our hands. He is strong... And now that the first strike has been made, there's nothing to stop him from imposing on my domain."

"My recommendation will be able solve any problems you may have about this," the guest said as he closed the briefcase, grabbed it, and stood up, smiling the whole time. "I assure you, if you don't accept my recommendation... then things may not go... as you want it to be." He then turned to walk out of the room. "That's it. There's nothing else for me to say to you... for now. Have a nice day, sir." He left the room as he finished his sentence. He then disappeared.
