Tracking the Hunter?
« on: April 05, 2010, 10:51:34 PM »
The group exited the Gate, as it was closer to them from the Sorceress' house. Before they'd used it, the Witch Doctor had de-summoned Eclipse; it wouldn't have fit inside the Gate. "Hope ya dont have allergies, kid. This place is a giant forest."

"You don't mind if I contact my father's spirit do you?" asked Zane wanting to be full and sure that this was the exact way that his father had created the power of the gauntlets. He didn't have much time left and if this failed well the entire universe would be plagued by that evil.

"Well?"

Reaching out into the essence a field of the astral plane which he had managed to access Zane said to his father "Have I reforged the gauntlets so far according to your original designs dad?"

"So Far you are doing well my son. You have managed to get around the legal morass of the Elemental Leaders by going straight to the elders. It was smart of you to not use your portals. Once the gauntlets are reforged though you must pass the trials in order to be able to use them and that is what I fear that you may not be able to do. I didn't pass all of the trials and so it is up to you from here on out my son. "

Ending the communication Zane decided that he must prepare himself for the trials while the others focused on forging and creating the gauntlets once again so that they could be used.

Having learned the nessecarry spell he immediately held out his palm and cast the spell on himself beginning the first test. Now he stood and waited for the first test to begin.

"We shall never contact each other again as once you are done I shall be able to go be judged for my actions and if destiny permits be with my wife once again. "

The Divine looked at Zane with a raised eyebrow, saying,"Oh, it was YOUR idea all of a sudden to skip the leaders and go with Eclipse, was it?"
"Does it really matter if he wants to impress his dad? Come on, just leave it be you big fool. We have to find the Hunter."
"Wha-BUT IT WAS MY IDEA TO-"
"Come on already! We need to get moving."
"Fine, fine..."

"I have woken up. I must begin now." Saying that he walked over to where the Witch Doctor and the others were. "Let us go and get the hunter and the others. I shall do the tests after the ritual in order to get the power to destroy the beast permanently. "

"Alright. The tree's are too dense to actually fly and find him, so we'll have to try and find him on ground. Anyone have any idea what direction we should go in?"

"Well instead of having to search the entire forest for him I say we simply do this!" Zane's eyes glowed and the magical signature of the hunter began to become visible to him. "Found him. " A look of emotion was on his face and it was not an emotion that he particularly enjoyed. It was raw hatred.

"I feel like an idiot. " said Zane for the first time ever he had insulted himself. Pointing a fist out he said "All this time. How was I so blind? Why didn't I remember that?" He opened his bag and pulled out the old gauntlets.

"This should save us time even though they won't fit me. We will need to remedy that. "

"...Oh, for the love of...SERIOUSLY!?" The Divine yelled only restrained from trying to beat Zane with his cane by the Wind.
"Getting angry will solve nothing. We may still need the other Elders to help with the resizing, anyways."

"Yeah and I forgot that when passed to a new wielder the gauntlets lose all virtues and so therefore they must still be re-enchanted."  Calming down somewhat Zane said to them. "I sense Pedalo.  It is like his magic signature is growing stronger every second and so we have even less time than I originally hoped that we would have. No time to look so..." He took out the tome and said the true names of the elders that weren't there causing them to arrive. "No time to look around. "

Appearing were the Elders:
Dark-a figure clad in armor, with draconic wings and the usual skin tone of the Darks. His appearance was that of a aged, yet strong, Dark, with a sword larger than his arm sheathed upon his back. He was the Knight.
Light-a figure wearing robes that looked to be those of a true alchemist, her wings angelic in every way, and with golden glasses. She was also the one that looked the most confused by the sudden change in location. However, despite being a elder, she looked even younger than the Soceress. She was the Alchemist.
Earth-a male Earth elemental, with his elven appearance. He wore light clothes, and had a bow, and a bag full of arrows(cant remember what its called). He looked aged, but not so much that he needed any help, and was very nimble. He was the Hunter.
Fire-A blazing female being wearing a dress made out of chains linked together from  the black rock, and of whom had a crown of fire atop her head. If one looked at his clothing the right way, it almost looked to be a sort of robes, just made out of the black rocks...Which in fact it was. While she indeed was a tad aged, she still had a fiery personality. She was the Magician.
Water-A merman being, with rag-tag, waterlogged clothes, and a bandanna covering her head. She looked about as young as the Light and Wind; she must have been to Light at some point. In her hands were a trident, and she seemed confused before yelling about falling through the air; when she was teleported, it wasn't at exactly where she should have been. At the least, she landed in a lake they were at the shore of. She was the Pirate.
And so...The questions began.
Dark:"Huh...This ain't Dark. Where am I...Is that you, Hunter?"
Earth:"Yes...And this is the Gate Tree. I suspect we were summoned by him, who holds the guantlets."
Fire:"Damn straight, considering he's holdin' em."
Light:"No need to get so angry, Magician."
Water:"WHY DID YOU TELEPORT ME SO HIGH UP!? I oughta strangle ya! Ya could'a killed me!"

"There was no time to go looking for you when Pedalo is almost at full power and so I did what I could, I merely teleported you all here to resize, re enchant and prepare me for the war against Pedalo so that I may like my father did defeat him. This time though I am going to take his magic away from him once I defeat him so he is no longer a threat. " said Zane. He put the gauntlets in the hands of each respective elemental.

"Now if you will proceed we may have this unpleasantness done and then I can teleport you back to your homes so that we may be done with this whole ordeal for at least 10 centuries or more. "

"Or you could of course just kill him." The Dark said, to the approval of the others. "That usually works. Maybe seal his soul in a rock or something."

"I agree that killing would solve one problem. However as you know he has many disciples filled with his dark energy and one of them would just rise up in his foot steps if I don't merely lock away his powers.  Thus the cure you suggest being worse in the long run is indeed the case."  said Zane in response to the Dark Elemental Elder.

"Now will you get with the enchantments so that we may be done with all of this already and this time make them last another 10 mill years. I don't have time to find your successors if the guy returns again. "

"No, for the anarchy this ensues within their ranks would destroy the lot of them. They'd fragment into many smaller factions, not all obey one leader."

"True but they might all work together which would be the problem because even with my powers, I can't be everywhere at once to handle every last one of his disciples some of which are elemental dark users and some others. " He had a scowl on his face.

"Then what is to stop him from simply using them all right now in such a way? You must not believe that hope is lost. The weak-willed often flock to those with empty promises of power, after all, and numbers decide not a fight."

Zane had teleported to where they would arrive. He was ready to fight if the need should arise. He had a staff in his hands. The staff was glowing with energy.

They performed the ritual. In all, it took over six hours...Each. It was a good thing they all did it at the same time, for there were seven of them. Done separately, there would have been no chance of getting them done in time. The Divine's advice was correct, it seemed...

"Hmph...What else do ya need?" The Pirate asked, swinging his trident around at Zane, mostly to agitate or scare him.
"A good question...We'll need to know what else before we can get it to you."
