The unfortunate, yet rather odd sleuthing squad.

Basic Plot
In the city of Eden crime goes unchecked, the police department is underfunded, understaffed, and overworked. But a slight increase in their budget allowed them to hire two eccentric detectives, who just happen to be the exact opposites of each other! Even worse they got partnered together!


Characters
Dakota - A rookie cop, fresh from the academy and ready to kick ass. A bit of a renegade who abhors taking orders, but has the ability to swallow his pride every once in a while. Has a great passion for his job. Known for his odd intellect and thinking process. Enjoys science. Tries to be a bit of a ladies man and has been known to be charming when the situation calls for it. Single.

J. England - Another rookie, when compared to his partner Dakota he seems to be the exact opposite. Somewhat apathetic and detached from his emotions he seems to not care at all about his job, follows protocol like a religious fanatic. Known for his extreme intellect and logical thinking process. His first name is Jon, but he has been known to get pissed off if anyone refers to him in that way. Which Dakota exploits for cheap laughs. In a relationship with Regina.

Chief Ged - The Scottish Police Chief himself, he's a stress individual, but always makes time for his employees. A bit like a Father figure to most of his employees, will praise you when you do something right, and will hit you in the face if you fuck up. Widowed.

Tom - The department's psychologist, will sit and listen to your every problem. And give some good advice, bit of a geek though. Single.

Taylor - The department's only crime scene investigator/forensic scientist, known to break out into song and violent rampages. She and Dakota are constantly at each other's throats, for reasons they refuse to share. In a relationship with some dude I have yet to think up for the story.

Matt - The department's narc, rumors have it that he is an addict. Single, but gets laid a lot.

Andrew - Every town has that one guy everybody knows, Eden's version of that guy is Andrew. He's a party animal, as well as a snitch. For the right price. Old friend of Dakota. In a relationship with a girl I have yet to come up with for the story.

Kaleb - Head of the Special victims unit, or the SVU. But Kaleb, being the pervert he is, the man prefers to call it the Sexy victims unit. Known to sexually harass any attractive females that are called in. But due to his connections he never gets sued. Good friend of Dakota and England. Single, but ra- I mean gets laid a lot.

Regina - A rich heiress/shut in/otaku who rarely leaves the home except to meet up with a few fellow anime friends, or go out with England. Has a dream of going to Japan but despite her overwhelming wealth doesn't seem to actually go. In a relationship with England.

Intro - Meet the cast 01
“No.” England said in a tone that revealed that he was utterly annoyed, this however only encouraged his partner and primary antagonist Dakota. “Oh come on! It’s not thhaaatt humiliating!” The quirky detective pleaded, obviously something was going on that would end with England in another bad position because of Dakota.

“I said no! I’m not wearing a leprechaun costume to the party!” England yelled, his outburst causing Dakota to smirk and walk a little ahead as they traveled down the sidewalk. It was a pretty chilly day in Eden, snow had fell the night before and was predicted to fall again tonight.

“I’m still alive, but I’m barely breathing. Just prayed to a God that I don’t believe in..” Dakota’s relatively tenor voice sang out with something hidden behind it, his breathe turning to fog as his back was turned to England.

“What?” Was the question that left England’s mouth, his response was nothing more then a scoff as Dakota continued down the sidewalk.

“You’re wearing that costume, otherwise I’ll look stupid in my ‘stereotypical British man’ costume.” Dakota informed, the hint of a laugh on his voice as they both kept down the sidewalk, the city of Eden look like it was well off, but that was because of the major investors or as Dakota would call them. “Crime Lords.”

They spruced up the place while keeping their money from getting into the hands of the police department, if it did they’d most likely be caught in a few days, it was an annoying situation that kept the Chief at his wit’s end. But that’s were Dakota and England came in, they don’t know where the money for their paychecks come from but with their combined efforts they were actually making some headway.

Or at least, criminals were actually getting caught, even if they were just petty thieves and drug dealers. “I said no, and last time I checked the dictionary that signified refusal.” England responded, bringing a frown to Dakota’s face.

“You’re wearing that costume because I’m of Irish descent, I’m wearing mine because your last name is England. It’s ingenious!” Dakota roared, his frown turning into a maniacal grin as they talked about the party England’s girl was throwing. Since Dakota had yet to be introduced to the lucky woman England wanted it to go well, it was the only time Dakota had even seen his partner nervous.

“A real Einstein aren’t you?” England mocked, receiving a small whack to his forehead for the comment. “Fuck yes I am, just wait till you see my particle accelerator, I built it out of cereal boxes, laser pointers, and copper pipes.” Dakota said, the thought of Dakota having any piece of technology resembling a particle accelerator brought a grimace to England’s normally blank face.

“That was a joke, it caught on fire last month.” Dakota informed when he saw his partner’s face, grinning as he remembered the terrible incident that left the empty garage he called his “Laboratory.” Full of smoke for six hours and him without eyebrows.

“Serves me right, all particle accelerators need at least one beautiful female scientist working on it, I mean who else would the nerds oggle as they worked?” Dakota muttered, bringing a small grin to his partners face.

As the two finally approached the EPD building they both sighed before walking into the door, it was going to be a long, long day.

"I'm not wearing that costume."

"Well fuUuUuUuUuck you then."
