Test-Fire

"GRAAAAAAA! HIRO, WHY WOULD YOU-"
"Flora, I've explained this about a thousand times. From what I can tell of our last encounter, the Archive wasn't trying to be hostile. They just didn't know you had a phobia of t-"
"Dont say the word. But still, they're THEM."
"The Commander said to tell ya they made a few medicines, at least."
"I. HATE. TESTS."
"Well, we certainly wont put you through any, alright?"
"...Grrrr..."
Hiro rolled hiseyes. Smart girl...Plant...Wait, dont plants have both male and female organs? No, wait, accoarding to the medics, she's still female...This is confusing. Anyways, smart girl, but she was still more childish than Sara...At least she bonded well with Alycia, despite the faction. He opened the Com-Link.
"Alright, Commander, testing, testing, do you read? We're approaching the planet...Aw, Sh*t...Your gonna wanna see this..."
Hiro had the outside cameras add footage to the link. They were still a ways away from the planet, but there were massive ships in orbit. All visible were as big as the countries and continents.

"Guess we know how the get around...Looks like four, maybe five of those big ones, who knows how many we cant see. They seem to be defending the planet..."

"Yes we read you loud and cle..holy hell." The Commander replied, looking at the screen from on-board the Omega. "This means they must have some interstellar capability, maybe even intergalactic. Hiro this is far to dangerous to go in any further, take as many scans as you can and fire all three missiles, have them release early. The momentum will take them there. The moment they go off, get the hell out of there." The Commander ordered.

"R...Right." Hiro said, the ship performing the scans. As soon as they were done, Hiro pressed the launch button. The Missiles launched just fine, but suddenly stopped when they got a few planets near. Just...Stopped. At the instant, movement on the ship's part could be observed. The two bigger ones turned to face the Dark Heart...No, thats not right. They indeed were facing the ship, but only the frontmost section. It was like the had heads. The missiles themselves a few seconds after being stopped seemed to be crushed by a unseen hand, like they were tin cans, and several dots showed on radar, emenating from the larger two. They were headed for the missiles and Dark Heart.
"A counterattack...?"
By now, the Dark Heart was on its way out. They couldn't get to hyperspace/whatever yet; there were a few planets they'd have to clear normally. But the engines were set to get them out of there when they cleared those planets; it wasn't a matter of if, but of when they escaped safely.
And then, they crew clutched their heads in pain, all except Alycia.
"ARG! WHATS THAT SOUND!?"
"SO...LOUD..."
"WHERE'S IT COMING FROM!?"
However, no sound was picked up by the ship's instruments...And they returned to normal as soon as tbey escaped.
"These B-19 things? I hate 'em..." Hiro said, still clutching his head.

"The moment the ships 'faced' us a massive psychic signature was was detected. Sensors indicated that a small number of the nanites survived, they are currently moving under detection towards the nearest vessel. Sensors also indicated that said ships were both sentient and organic in composition. My best guess would be that they were the origin of the psychic attack. I am currently sending this information to the Thanatos Commander, Matry will be very interested. And he might be able to create some defensive measures." Alycia reported, the reports appearing in holographic form in-front of both Hiro and the Commander.

"Damn...Psychic? What the hell are these things...Wait, what about those dots? Were those missiles?"
"Acoarding to the data...Yes, Hiro. Those were some sort of high explosive. We cant be sure if they were all fired from those larger ones, though...The smaller ones could've had a part in the counterattack." Flora said, getting back off the floor. It seemed that the Psychic Scream had caused her to fall out of her seat and hit her head; it was a wonder she didn't have a concussion.
--------
The missiles kept toward the remains of the other three. The first to get there, which looked like organic drills, spewed a toxin everywhere in the area. It seemed to have no effect on the 'surviving' mini-nonorganic creatures. Puzzling.
Then came the REAL warheads, accounting for 90% of the total missiles, the venom drills the other 10%. They exploded before hitting anything, and the 'venom' caught flame as well, and since the flames weren't running on oxygen but another potent fuel, while they were short lasting(only about a milisecond in the deep-space cold), they'd still get rid of these things even if the explosions didn't. And since they exploded before actually hitting anything, and kept expliding until none were left to explode, the momentum would send them FAR away from Maltruse. Nothing in deep space to push off meant no way to change course...Maltruse was safe, it seemed.

But the shock-waves did not exist, as there wasn't anything in space to carry the force. And due to space being a vacuum the venom spread out to thin to burn the nanites effectively, but they got the message, spreading out far enough that they were nothing but space debris according to even the most efficient sensor.

OOC:Explosives, remember? By exploding, they produced the materials to carry the shockwave. Kinda like smoke and other burnt materials from a explosion, just not made of the same stuff, even if its a vacuum, that stuff will still be pushed out, and will still push anything it comes in contact with.

(These nanites are smaller then a virus, smoke would miss it due to it's such small size. Hell they would be undetectable behind all the space debris and basic radiation.)

OOC:Hm, got me there. Still, there would be gases from it, considering its organic...

As a precaution, they formed a psychic barrier that would repulse anything short of a planet, about a planet's distance from the missiles, which was kept up by all five of the larger ships. A hard feat for a single, even three powerful Psykers, but there were five of them. They kept it up for a long time; anything that hit it would be sent away with such force that they wouldn't get anywhere near. Even if there was something to stop them, they'd probably be captured by some planet's gravity and burn up in the atmosphere.

OOC:Ya cant say they wouldn't do that, considering they were just attacked; it'd be a precaution.

(Viruses aren't even technically alive, they don't produce anything but themselves. And the nanites are virus sized robots, they'd have the same amount of energy as the radiation around them. Making them undetectable.)

And the nanites stopped, their primitive sensors able to detect the incredibly powerful barrier. It would be a waiting game, and the nanites had all the time in the world.

OOC:The missiles are organic...And the reason viruses aren't considered alive is actually because they cant reproduce on their own. Nothing other than that, really.

And so they were caught in the gravitational pull of a nearby planet, and burned in the atmosphere.

(That would take hours, aaaannnndddddd viruses aren't considered alive because they ONLY reproduce. They do not eat, sleep, or anything. Hell Nanites can move on their own, they are all terrain nanities. 8D )

OOC:The barrier could probably hold for about two, maybe three days if they were lucky, considering the amounts of power those ships have. I mean, they have brains larger than cities, you know, which is common sense if you consider their overall vast size...And that only means they aren't alive as WE, humans, know it. They could very well be alive in a entirely different sense.
