Putting this here, since they're magic entities.
A little more clarification about the two, what exactly they are (as much as I'll give,) and some of the special abilities they possess, as well as answering some questions I've been asked.
Abilities:
Gift of Truth:
The one inheirtent ability of Rev and Gen, is their eyes. Like mirrors, that reflect all, they can see the truth, read hearts, and the true nature of a person or object. This makes it to where they cannot be lied to, unless they willingly stay naive. And it lets them read the motives and true nature of a person through their heart. And see all who that person is inside.
It will also show the true nature of spells and illusions. As if a spell is invisibly cast to the outside, their eyes would reflect the truth, and see it for what the spell really is. Text and codes as well. Anything that is a "lie."
As it's not a form of scrying, but a gift only they have, normal spells to block scrying, and protection for things like that, will not block this. Even for characters that have learned to block their minds from being read. It's not a mind reading, but a reflection of the persons inner being. However, they must have direct eye contact, in person.
IT IS NOT A SPELL.
Fail-safe:
Because the magic is what makes up their being, and not a spirt. (Though they do have one, it's just dormant/foreshadowing.)
Even going so far as to provide them a physical form, and not an astral one. The magic also protects them, and defends against what it deems as hostility.
In the event of them being attacked, or someone having the intentions. The magic will use the gift of truth and see through it, proving the necessary protection, but in acting on its own will. This said, the magic they're made-up of, in a way is sentient as well, but not of their personalities.
And if someone uses an illusion, or an invisible spell, the magic has the gift of truth at its disposal, as well.
Their body is basically its own soul, but solidified. They have dormant spirits that are not their own...but that's for much, much, much, later. And since I said the magic has a sentient will of its own without them invoking it....I guess you would say the way they have personalities seprate from that. Everything they learn and experience is 'written,' into it, much like you would write a program.
And no, AM and Nilgaitt will not null them out. Their personality would exist, as it has been 'written,' and their form would just be like that of a soul that is supressed. But yeah, since their form is their soul, you can't really steal their soul.
And Rev + Gen magic = Biblis Magic, I named it.
