I Challenge Thee: Zarithian Empire
« on: May 14, 2011, 11:03:46 PM »
OOC: I'm a bit bored, and Zak, you've said I had no experience on one on one fighting before, so I challenge you at your strongest, with me at my oldest creation on shattered.

Not far from the Zarithian fleet, a hole in the universe opened up. This hole lead to a different dimension: an alternate reality. A dangerous reality. In this place the empire of the Vlerdok, better known in our reality as the Deathwalkers, were never extinguished. They had taken everyone, and everything. They had made quite a living for themselves, but they wanted more. Therefore, they found a way to tear through space to confront our reality, starting with the Zarithian empire.

The Tartarus (Titan), along with it's tens of apparitions(multi-purpose ship) and thousands of fighters were in full battle position, and ready to descend upon the first of their prey.

OOC: Nik, if you're going to do something with my people at least learn how to spell their name correctly.

The portal appeared on the outer edges of the Tefillin System. Immediately alarms systems went berserk as they detected the incoming fleet. The Zarethian Fleet, a powerful fleet of many thousands of ships, prepared itself for battle with the new, unknown attacker. The sixty plus capitol and super capitol ships arranged themselves in formation, the missile cruisers behind the heavy, tank-like tartarus super capitols. The Prometheus titan proudly sat in the middle of its ship, readying its 48 massive anti-titan pulse cannons. These cannons, literally capable of ripping a planet in half with one shot, littered the ships proud, black and red hull.

The smaller ships, each carrying a variety of weapons ranging from magical nova cannons, readying themselves for the battle via magical chants and black hole missiles.

All ships readied their universal shield generators and currently set their shields to the particle shields.

Well over a million fighter bombers, each controlled by a highly advanced virtual intelligence system,  swarmed from the larger ships and made loops around the larger ships.

OOC: oops. I feel dumb now.

The Tartarus and Apparitions were ready for these kinds of attacks. They were equipped with invisiasheilds on their outer hulls allowing any physical attack to simply pass through. They were also not the type to back down from a fight just because the fleet was bigger than their's. No no, they were willing to attack any time from any one. For the legitiment reasons, they threw the first punch. A swarm of fighters released themselves from the Tartarus and the holographic exterior of the jets formed quickly. At lightning speed, they descended upon their Zarethian counterparts.

The Prometheus  simply shot its four starbuster cannons, engulfing the enemy fighter swarm in a cloud of superheated magical fire hot enough to be a sun.

The Zarethian fighter wings broke off and formed a pincer, diving towards the titan  of the enemy fleet.

The small platoon was burnt to a crisp, but the Vlerdok instantly knew an attack that could defend themselves from that weapon if it ever happened again.

The Tartarus saw the the fleet descending toward their position, and they decided there was no more time for these petty games with pawns. The ship charged, and shot a large, large lightning laser directly at the Prometheus titan. Lightning lasers were truly a gem that was no longer available in our universe. They would shoot a powerful bolt of lightning that would violently burn, EMP, or do both to whatever touched, or (like a good number of the enemy fighters) were to close to it as it shot by.

The 3rd fleet dispatches their own fighters. One group of them follows behind the first salvo of shots, and blankets the Cruisers, the other groups provide fighter support for the fleet outnumbering their fighters 500:1

OOC: By cruiser I assume you mean my Titan. What ships do you have in your fleet, Lyoko?

Another set of fighters was immediately on the defense. They may not be able to stand up to a planet destroying blast, but they were masters at dogfights on their level. One reason for this is that their hard light design made them sudo-invincible to their competitors.

OOC: 300 posts btw.

Several Zarethian Dullr class ships, ready for any assault,  made a warp portal in front of the Zarethian line so that the beam went throw the portal. A secondary portal opened besides the Tartarus titan, so that it could not escape its own weapon.

Hundreds of Zarethian fighters were destroyed by the beam but millions more were fighting in small dogfights and dropping their payload onto the frigates, cruisers and corvettes of the enemy fleet.

The Deathwalkers did not see that attack coming. Lucky for them, they were equipped with invisasheilds covering the entire ship, save the currently active ports. They were took minimal damage, but were blown off coarse quite a bit by the shock of the blast. Luckily, they had gained a bit of insight based on this new bit of information.

The Deathwalkers opened a warp to their home universe, and fifteen apparitions with a considerably large fighter escort. It seemed they were retreating cowards, but they were anything but. The Zarethians would learn that as the escort came through a newly formed warp point from their universe allowed them entry on the fleet's rear.

As they barred down on the super-capitals. The fighters fired upon the shields of the super capitol with smaller lightning lasers. As the Zarethians fought off whatever fighters came to the defense large missile like structures were shot upon the newly formed holes in the shields. When they hit, they oddly did not explode like missiles would. They just sat on the edge of the ship's armor. What could be happening?

OOC: Nik, I think that that beam weapon of yours might do a little more than minimal damage and knocking the vessel off course. I think you're either hyping up your shields or downgrading your weapon when its used against you. Also, in battles its better to say that someone tries to do something rather than assuming that it already happens.

The Zarethian titan fired its four starburster cannons again through the hole, hoping on hitting the enemy titan with their blast. Fifteen Tartarus super capitols moved towards the painfully obvious warp hole at the rear of the fleet and began to fire their starburster weapons and pulse weapons into it, devastating anything inside and potentially hitting anything on the other side.

The Zarethian capitol and super capitol ships were still using the standard energy shields and the particle shields. The electric fire of the enemy simply gave them more power and the small pods that were supposed to land on them were disintegrated by the particle shields.

OOC: I was beginning to think that. My shields allow things to pass through it btw, so the only parts hit by my blast would be the open ports.

A squadron of around 100 fighters were on standby anticipating another sunburst attack. They banded together to form their classic Kuvon formation: binding the hard light systems of the ships together and forcing it forward in the shape of a cup. This, like milk into a bowl, caused it to be deflected away from the titan (which I will begin calling the Underworld because you have some kind of ship called Tartarus as well) and back through the portal. The fighter's had successfully forced the shield far enough from them that they were not damaged, and sense their cup was basically a hologram, it wasn't hurt.

Unfortunately for the super capitols, the pods had already released their cargo by the time the pods were disintegrated. The deathwalkers now inside were reaping havoc on the technical personnel inside the ship.

OOC: Which would EMP your ship, as you said in your attack post.

However, despite their tactic, the starburster cannon simply went through their small, small, small effort to defend the ship. It would reach the titan by whatever means it could, including the disintegration small ships.

OOC: You don't seem to get it, Nik, the pods were disintegrated away from the surface. Anything that touches the particle shield has its particles separated.

The small attack party was also destroyed by the particle shields.

Addler vas Vacon, struck by an ingenious idea, ordered the dullr type ships to make two portals, one in front of the warp hole, so that whatever came out would go through the portal and one in front of the Zarethian Fleet line. The exit portal for both of these was one and the same and was inside of the enemy titan  at what appeared to be the bridge.

The Zarethian fleet fired all weapons. There was no way that anything could possibly withstand this attack from within its own shields.

OOC: But it's not made out of metal. It's made of a material more closely related to their exoskeleton (but much more dense and mineral) that is a nonconductor of electricity like glass. I forgot the term. If you could imagine something kind of like a cross between a hard plastic and a rock.

The beam was energy, and therefor physical, and therefor deflected by the shields made physical by the tiny Deathwalker ships. Now it may be true that one my be unable to stand up to the sunburst, but not so with a team. When a horse draws a carriage it delivers a certain amount of force, but when another horse with similar strength, they would not deliver twice the strength to pull the carriage. Nay, they would deliver it tenfold. These tiny fighters were operating in a similar fashion. Their shield holograms would not exhibit the strength of one repeated, but increased exponentially.

OOC: And you don't seem to get it. I EMP'd your shields. Their either made of energy (Which would be EMP'd), made of matter (Witch my pods would have bored through), or made of absence like mine (which you don't based on the description's you've given).  You also seem to forget that I didn't take the shields down entirely, only knocked holes in them for the pods.
Also, before you post again with the warp in my ship thing, can you clarify how big it is? Is it completely inside my Titan, or are the edges around the ship?

OOC: And still would have been damaged a bit more than lightly. Also, unless your fighters cover an area a good deal bigger than they should, the beam would have gone around them.

The weapon was not so physical that the ships could deflect it. It was a magic flame, not some bullet. It went around them.

OOC: Nik,  your fighters wouldn't have been able to down my shields. Why? Because my shields absorb energy. That means EMPs. And the portal is inside your titan's hull in the middle. Just inside it.

OOC: Thanks buddy for making it on the inside! You just solved all my problems! :D
You can have the disintegrated pods by the way.

The portal quickly opened on the inside of the Underworld, but it would not be to the benefit of it's opener. The problem with opening up a portal from the inside, is that you never know what could be lurking. It could always decide to bite you in the butt. In this case, the portal was to close to the Aflix, and they intersected. Seeing as the Aflix was in fact the energetic end of a wormhole that converted matter to energy, or from their side energy to matter. The Vlerdok recognized what was going on: they'd had the accident before, and they knew basically how to handle it. With some magic and some technology they formed another worm hole to cover the Aflix from their point of view. Better safe than sorry if the Zarethian fleet were stupid enough to even let a passing asteroid fall in there by mistake. Just in case, the Vlerdok had the other end of the portal open just to the flank of the Zarethian fleet opened toward them. Literally on it's flank. It paid off.

Within seconds the Zarethians had not only fired upon themselves with their insanely powerful blast, but had released an eruption that toppled any technology that has been developed by lifeforms of either galaxy. The portal had allowed the energy of the Aflix to release out from the natural pull that kept all the energy together in one bundle safe and sound. There it wasn't volatile. unfortunately the more it spread the more volatile it became, and the more matter from the opposing end was able to pass through and become energy. As soon as the Zarethian blasts came into contact with the now unsafe Aflix, decillions of atoms were ripped apart and nonillions were forced into fusion. The equivalent of billions of nova blasts all going off at once instantly into this Zarethian fleet so hot, so full of energy that any thing that tried to absorb it would likely be incinerated within seconds. So powerful that even ash would be nonexistant. So powerful that, well, you get my point.

Though not much of the blast (comparatively) was felt inside the Underworld, the entire ship was instantly lost of power due to the EMP nature of the energy, and a lot of much of the interior where they had left was now irreparably damaged. That would seem to be the worst of it, but the blast from the Zarethian fleet a few miles away would send shock and fire toward them at at lightning speed. Lucky for them they were only directly hit by the blast on the outskirts of the fleet due to the very first portal opened by the Zarethian fleet: the one that deflected the Underworld's initial blast of lightning. It's funny how things work out, isn't it?

Though the fleet was not nearly as heavily damaged by this as they could have been, the shock of it sent them back with 2/3 of their fighters, 1/2 their apparitions, and an offline Titan. It was then that they remembered the other fleet. Such a small thing it had been in their eyes in comparison the the glorius one they had just witnessed being turned into a small amount of white liquid. They wanted to take it on, but their leader, Vzgovan the Formidable said no to that. They were in a shape to rough to fight any new, with hardly scar of this battle. So, he closed the portal around him: the one they had just drifted into. The one that lead them home.

 ;D

OOC: I went over that. And yes it would. It's a combination of technologies of both you and me. While it may not combine with two of your portals, mine has a naturally attractive nature that pulls stuff through it. Since it's focus had been drawn to your portal it let go of the energy it already had, and your cannons lit it up.

Edit: I'll draw up some diagrams.

However, the Zarethians had the forethought to amplify their portals with magic in order to ensure that nothing could tamper with it. After the portal was created, the Zarethian mages reinforced it and made so that nothing could come through it from the other side and so that nothing could affect the portal.

OOC :P sometimes all a problem requires is a bit of forethought.

OOC: or an OOCIC Jump. If you looked at the diagram you would have realized the problems with your move.
What was that you just said about forethought?

Unfortunately for the Zarethians, they hadn't used their forethought well. They had decided to amplify the portal to make sure nothing could tamper with it. Mistake one. Their portal wasn't the one being tampered with. Their portal had been the tamperer. The amplification only weakened the Aflix's grip on it's energy further. More of the energy was able to dissipate farther and faster.

The Zarethians also failed to notice that the Aflix was sticking through the Zarethian portal. Mistake two. It didn't matter that the Zarethian's weren't letting the energy flow out through their side of the their own portal; energy was flowing into their fleet directly out of the Aflix.

Finally, the Zarethian's didn't heed the Deathwalker portal: only their own. Mistake three. This still allowed particles of energy to fly into the rear of the Zarethian fleet, and be the driving division of particles in their destruction. It couldn't have been helped though. Trying to tamper with the Deathwalker portal would have been like trying to tamper with concerta using a knowledge of ritalin. It wouldn't do what they intended, and possibly the opposite.

OOC: Nik, you are messing with my portal. If the alfix is sticking through my portal then you are messing with it. This basically nulls all of your last two posts. The Zarethian portal has nothing going through it except the weapons fire. I think what you are saying it that the aflix portal. Now, since your people somehow immediately grasp that there is a portal there which is another thing I want to ask you. How is it that your people would immediately recognize a portal the second it was there then redirect it? Isnt that a weeeeeee bit cheap seeing as it would take at most 15 seconds for that type of synchronization?

The Zarethian Fleet was covered in nuclear explosions. However, other than the startling bursts of light in front of their shields, they did nothing other than power the shields of the larger Zarethian Vessels. The fighters however, had their shields over powered and several thousand that were caught in the blast were destroyed.

Addler was unphased by this display. He ordered more portals. He ordered fifteen. One went inside the enemy titan's bridge area. The other fourteen went inside the larger vessels in the enemy fleet's bridge areas. Or at least what looked like the bridge areas. These were reciever portals and the sender portal was made in front of the Zarethian fleet. Again, they fired and their weapons shone like miniature stars as they went through the portals.

The Zarethian mages covered the fleet in a shield of magic in case something bad had happened. If the other portal opened up the Zarethian ship fire, the Zarethian fleet, with each ship individually covered with its own shields,  was covered by a protective shield. Even if something got through, even nuclear explosions, the Zarethian ship's shields would absorb the energy.
OOC: lol. You just called me cheap!
This whole time you've been shooting bullets at me that can destroy planets, and blasts as hot as the sun that can magically go around my defenses.
A: A portal big enough to be fired into would take at least 2 whole seconds to create, and there would have to be extra work to get it into a ship that they cant even fire upon.
B: You texted me saying it would take at least ten seconds from the opening of the portal to the gunfire of the Zarethians.
C: I created a portal slightly bigger, so I'll say 3 seconds.
D: That leaves 9 seconds thinking time to do something they've precautioned: Surrounding the Aflix with a portal to save the ship. Are you calling my race slow? A rehearsed thought can spin through the mind in less than 1 second. I've already stated that a similar incident happened to them when they were testing portals. They have a large staff dedicated to tending the Aflix, and only tending the Aflix.
E: The Aflix is a spherical shaped portal. Yours are flat (I know because you requested putting them on your ships as a shield a while back, and if they weren't flat it would mess up the interior of the ship: making the crew periodically be warped into space), and your portal was formed on the Aflix. It wouldn't suck the Aflix in one direction for two reasons. One, it's only working to keep stuff from traveling out, and two, it's going to be weaker. It was made on the fly in like 2 seconds after all!
F: How would your guys think of putting a shield around your entire fleet in the second it took for the atoms to split? It was instantaneous for atoms to start splitting as soon as they were hit by the beams of yours, and if you say that they did it beforehand then the beams would have gotten hit by your shield.
G: I was talking 9 seconds of thinking time, plus 3 of action. You have 1 for both.

OOC: Mine are legit, Nik, otherwise the admins wouldnt have appro- oh, wait. Nevermind. :P
They seriously are legit. Seriously.
The portal itself is created instantaneously after the co-ordinates have been put in. The time comes from having to put those co-ordinates in. As for the next question in line-  It would take that time for them to co-ordinate the attack. The co-ordination coming from Addler telling everybody to do that on a uni-com.

Because the Zarethians are awesome? Ok, you have me on the giant shield part. However, it still wouldnt matter. The nuclear explosions would be absorbed by the Zarethian's Energy shields. These shields absorb most types of energy including but not limited to: Nuclear, Gamma, Infared, Electrical, Electromagnetic etc. and use it to power their shield systems. The energy your fighters used to attack me with the lightning stuff? Yeah that would have just made the shields stronger.
I'll edit my post.
