Jack, Void-Herald.
« on: January 10, 2012, 03:32:29 AM »
Character Name: Jack, yes, just Jack.
Age: He's rather young; five days old in fact.
Gender: Male..?
Race: Void-Herald; he is not from this part of reality. He's a construct created by the Void as a way to communicate with the denizens of Existence; something that has never occurred until now. Gifted with the Void-heart; an semi-permanent rift in the fabric of Existence leading straight into the core of the Void; this rift is located in his heart. That is not his only gift. His right eye is can draw objects and people into the Void;  his source of power.
Appearance:
Alliance: He's new in town; so he is up for grabs.
Personality: Naive and ignorant about the ways of the world; he's little more then a child when it comes to experience. His moral compass is practically nonexistent, he does what he wants, whenever he wants too. Good and evil are just words to him, and mean less to him then the roach he just stepped on walking into the room. Although he seems apathetic and cold to most people but it's actually do his own inexperience, he doesn't know what to say or how to act in a normal conversation or anything really, so he just keeps quiet and tries to ignore everyone around him. He's still interested in creating some sort of relationship with a native to Existence, as he is technically an ambassador.
Inventory (Weapons, Equipment, Etc):
Combat Level:
- Magic  Level: Jack's magic level is 6; this is due to his own unique racial abilities. A medium for the Void to act within Existence. He has an entire realm backing him up, and that gives him a significant amount of strength. He would be in fact stronger then what he is, but his body wouldn't be able to handle the unbridled strength of the Void. The Void-heart also allows him to use the peculiar power of "Invasion." This power morphs the area around him and taints it with the Void; a place where Embodiments will find their powers harshly diminished. The range of this power is a five mile three hundred and sixty degree radius. And his final gift from the Void is called the "Black touch," this gives him the ability rip an entities spirit from it's host while drawing it into the Void upon physical contact. While in the Void the spirit is slowly reduced into nothing more then pure energy. However spirits capable of using existence manipulating capabilities are able to escape. If they can fight off Jack's fellow citizens of the Void.
- Physical Strength: The empowering influence of the Void-heart makes him superhuman in many aspects. Faster, stronger, and more agile then what his body should allow.
Character's History: Jack's history isn't much to shake a stick at; having only been created by the Void five days ago he hasn't done much with this new thing called life. What he has done is enter Existence under the order of the Void, but not as a conqueror or a scout for an invading army. Instead as an ambassador. Given three gifts by the void to protect himself against the entities known as the Embodiments; which are the only things the Void consider a threat.
He first entered Existence on Setus Prime; here he has remained watching and waiting in the background. He's refrained from interfering or revealing himself to the local population, but it isn't like that is a hard thing to do. He has been focusing on cataloging the active embodiments and keep track of their movements; one of his major objectives is the research into the powers and any known weaknesses of the Embodiments as a whole. Being the only things in Existence the Void considers problem.
He has been on the move recently; migrating to New Sodom where he has been keeping himself very scarce. Under a powerful displacement spell whenever he is out in public. Although when he is alone he breaks down the spell but keeps his magic signature hidden. He's grown interested in both the Negis and Kurai as they're unique. After learning about the Plex incident eight years ago he immediately contacted the Void and passed the information on. Now the Void has rethought it's initial plan to not create an army to defend it's own plane. Ignorance was bliss; now war is sounding more and more real.

RP Sample: Hot searing pain.
That was his first memory; his first thought was how he wanted to fade back into the familiar non-existence. But it was far too late for that now; he could feel the vastness of the Void's power as it shaped him out of the cold and empty realm around him. Surges of heat forced his newly formed mouth to open up in a scream but no sound would come out, but he was not burning. He was just experiencing life; what he thought was some sort of deadly blaze..was his heart beat. Without ever having felt heat, or having even felt before the heat of his blood running through his veins was hot enough to drive him to madness.

As he neared his limit and his mind almost shattered under the weight of the pain waves of cold relief flooded through his body, and with the feeling of cold came an immense amount of power. Within his own chest he felt a sort of tingling; as if there was some sort of energy sparkling inside his heart.

Then he heard it; a voice. It was not a sound, but it was buzzing inside his skull like some sort of annoying insect. Bouncing around and without even hearing a sentence; not even a word but he understood what it wanted.

----------

He opened his eyes and was instantly blinded by the light pouring into his eyes. Only then did he slowly start to feel the gentle breeze on his skin, and the warm touch of the morning sun. He slowly stood to his feet and looked down at himself, but he was not used to being in such a trapping physical form, and the rush of blood leaving his head brought him back down to his knees.

His vision blurred and blacked out for a bit but soon cleared, and the the spinning in his head did as well. Once more standing to his feet he was stunned by the beauty, and by the color of the prairie before his eyes. The prairie grass was light blue, and the sky was orange. Violet clouds floated across the calm spring sky; only a handful within sight.
He had a sudden urge to sit down, and just look at the wondrous world before him. Until a sharp pain in his chest reminded him of his duties, and without even blinking he disappeared.

Time still exists in the Void as it is not outside of real existence, but material existence ( the dimensional plane.) He would have an age.

Last I heard the Void is separate from Existence in it's entirety, it's the utter opposite to Existence. But I'll get a hold of K2, since it is his creation after all.

Hey bro.
The Void isn't outside EVERYTHING that exists necessarily. It's more of an alternate plane of existence, a counterpart to the reality which we perceive as true in the dimensional plane. They are two sides to the same coin. While I don't like the idea of the embodiments governing over the void, their forces would still apply in the void itself. Time especially.

I was taking the concept of the VOID a bit too literal I guess.

NO to the spirit thing. Overpowered. The spirit shouldn't be messed with.

Why are Embodiments powers diminished when the Void is still a part of true existence?

And no to it being level 6. You've already had lvl6s. And DEFINITELY no to it even being mentioned as higher than 6 as there is no higher.

I also call metagaming on the New Sodom presence. You couldn't bring Abbadon back so now you post that a new character is there just to take it, BS.

Get an RP sample.

...Not even gonna get into how it's a rip of Pandora Hearts. Hell you even named the character Jack and treated the Void like the Abyss and the Will of the Abyss.

Says the person who has the most spirit based magic and ways to destroy a spirit in the entire RP.

Ask K2; he mentioned that the Embodiment's wouldn't have authority in the Void. Or he wanted them like that.

Well I don't now, and again, you have like what? Three or two level sixes?

I made Jack before I brought Abaddon in you ignorant and overly hostile midget.

Pandora Hearts? Sorry if something I made is vaguely similar to something else that has existed in the world; I'm not all knowing you twit.

And no, fuck that. You guys know my RP level, and it's a waste of fucking time.

Messed with as in killed/destroyed. I have one spirit killing method and it only causes reincarnation -.- Yours is waaaay more dark art forbidden type.

I have one. Like the limit is. Just because you lost one lvl6 doesn't mean you should get another.

And you did, yes. But you didn't have the New Sodom parts in the bio till after that.

And RP sample or not even considering approving it.

All the Void-Eye does is cause the spirit to be sent to the Void, if the spirit is powerful enough it can defend itself. It can also LEAVE if it knows Existence level magic.

Yeah..that is kinda how limits work Hikaru. It's not. "You get one level six your entire lifetime."

I actually wanted Jack and Abaddon to meet, but since you're omniscient and all..I guess I'm wrong, eh?

Blah blah, eventually!

Is it only embodiments or is it anyone who uses forces(Elementals, Templars etc)? Also, is the void eye literally just a kill all of like anyone level 4 or less?
Aside from that I dont actually mind about the rest

It would affect those who use the forces as well, although not as drastically. And no; you can survive if you are able to defend yourself against the Void-creatures.

There are several problems I possess with the Void Herald. For example, the three below.
1.How do you know he will not target without any IC logic any empire on SP?  (Mine included)
2.The Void has never been explained and I don't really understand the concept.
3.The mechanics of his powers also need to be detailed I would think.

Hawk actually has a point on 1 and 2. And yes the Void does need to be better explained. Also, what is existence level magic? You can't just say "so and so can get away if they have this," without explaining what exactly that is. I still say the spirit power is overpowered.

Quote
He would be in fact stronger then a level six magic user

Remove that. No one has the power to go over lvl6 no one.

And why are Embodiments powers diminished if K2 just said their powers would work?

You STILL need a sample.

Kaleb, and I will have a sit down eventually and talk about this. If he's okay with me pitching in ideas.

Existence level magic is magic that effects not reality; nor the physical world but the concepts of Existence and it allows for travel between the Void and True Existence. As for the level six thing. It isn't me trying to sneakily get a super-powered character; he'll never get any stronger in level then what he is now. That was me explaining that the Void is more powerful then Jack; which means he's nothing but a minion in it's eyes.

Simple; the Invasion field that the Void-heart creates causes the area to be temporarily "claimed" by the Void; circumventing the Embodiment's control partially. Although it does weaken them a large amount.

In other words powers that no one other than an Ingrounded or you and K2 would have. Then it's too powerful.

And I don't care. It's still a loophole, get rid of the higher than 6 things. We've been over this with other requests of yours already, Orph.

It's not really going OUTSIDE of existence, just between what we perceive as reality here and what the void perceives as reality, it's like two sides to the same coin. Orph and I do need to sit down and talk more about the concepts behind it, but it's basics are clear. If you're going to deny this character than you must also deny Empty.

Not denying that...

I'm denying the fact that only existence level magic can get a person out of this. He's limiting it to only you two and Ingrounded giving no one whatsoever a chance.

It's about travel to and from the void, it's damn hard for someone to send another into the void, that's why the Void Lords only come and go every so often..

Existence level magic has been in play since the start of season 4; the first magic VS Aralang war Zere used Existence level magic to bind the Aralang fleet to a certain point in reality. Zere did, a level FOUR magic user. It's about knowledge, not power.

You say it's a loophole, but it isn't. It is a part of his background that explains more about the Void in terms of power and magnitude, it's not like I can just up and make him a level seven because of that sentence. Stop acting so damn paranoid and nit-picky. It's getting stupid.

I'll get an RP sample up eventually.

I want the post where there was that magic then. And when you say affecting existence you make it sound like existence level is embodiment level.

**Existence Magic
Existence Magic is the ability to manipulate existence. It is even more complicated then Dimension Magic.

Spell Name: Existence arena
 Spell Level: Forbidden
 Type Of Magic: Existence
Spell Description: This spell removes a large part of existence and moves it outside of existence, into the infinite void where the dimensional sea doesn't even reach. The empty canvas that God looked upon before the universe was made. This part of existence is shielded by the caster's magic, creating a perfect battle ground. Once one of the combatants are dead the existence moves back to its place.
 Counter Spells: N/A

Spell Name: Shackles of Prometheus
 Spell Level: Forbidden
 Type Of Magic: Existence
Spell Description: This spell ties a person's existence to a certain point in space, if the person tries to leave the space or the area surrounding it he will find himself once again there. But this spell is forbidden due to its heavy toll on the caster, it drains magical energy at an alarming rate, therefore it is temporary.
Counter Spells: The only way to counter this spell is to either destroy the point in space with Void spell or to wait for the caster to disperse or lose energy. Or to kill the caster.
 Notable Examples: N/A

Spell Name: Void
 Spell Level: Forbidden
 Type Of Magic: Existence
Spell Description: This spell voids a certain point in space's existence, an effective counter spell to the Shackles spell. Or a way to kill a beings completely. this spell however has been known to kill the caster due to the massive amount of energy required to cast it.
Counter Spells: If a person has a incredibly high will they can resist the effects of Void.
 Notable Examples: N/A

(NOTE this was made BEFORE the Ingrounded stuff)
